How many short films does Cannes accept?
After watching 3,507 films from more than 140 countries, 9 shorts will be presented in Competition from the following 9 countries: China, South Korea, Costa Rica, the United States, France, Ghana, Hong Kong, Lithuania, and Nepal. The Short Film Palme d'or will be awarded on Saturday, May 28 during the Closing Ceremony.
Short films (between 1 and 35 minutes) can be registered for the Short Film Corner: a meeting place dedicated to short films within the Festival de Cannes. You can also contact the Director's Fortnight or the Critics' Week, which are parallel sections of the Festival de Cannes.
How many submissions do you get? The 2022 Slamdance Film Festival received more than 8,000 submissions. If my film has already premiered at another festival, is it still eligible? We consider films regardless of their premiere status.
