If your Alexa device is not responding, this might be due to a poor internet connection. Check the cable connection of all your smart home devices. Other reasons include physical interference, wrong Wi-Fi password, or too much distance between the Echo device and the router.

Amazon just announced that it has made the “difficult” decision to “retire” Alexa.com on May 1, 2022, but the truth is that Alexa.com the website has nothing to do with Alexa the voice assistant.
Amazon is all set to shut down its global website ranking system and analysis tool alexa.com. Amazon is retiring Alexa as it feels that the cost of keeping the site active is not worth the expense now. Alexa was founded in the year 1996 and was bought by Amazon in the year 1999.
Alexa is the virtual assistant, while Echo is the smart speaker device.

Low Volume. As implausible as it may sound, the low volume might also be the reason for Alexa not talking back. Use the physical buttons on the Echo speaker to increase the volume. Alternatively, issue the commands like, 'Alexa, volume 5' or 'Alexa, increase the volume.
- Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Device Options.
- Select Check for Software Updates to check for and install software updates.
It's Alexa's way of telling you the smart speaker is in Setup Mode or attempting to connect to your Wi-Fi network. So, if your network connection lapses from time to time, you're bound to encounter this color on what appear to be random occasions.
Is there something better than Alexa?
Google Assistant is technically more popular (it's installed on most Android phones) and more accurate than Amazon's Alexa voice assistant. Amazon holds the lion's share of the dedicated voice speaker market and has a more diverse lineup of gadgets.
Alexa has the upper hand of better smart home integration and more supported devices, while Assistant has a slightly bigger brain and better social skills. If you've big plans for the smart home, Alexa is your better bet, but Google's generally more intelligent right now.
