This is what I learnt: COS should be your go-to for dramatic cuts and trend-led, colour-blocking separates. Arket, meanwhile, is great for layering pieces and luxe basics, such as tailored trousers and expensive-looking knitwear.

I absolutely LOVE the quality of Arket and can definitely appreciate the consistency of the brand in terms of quality. Fit wise, there's a trend in all the pieces to be FAR TOO oversized on someone petite. There's oversized and then there's Arket which would often need to be much shorter to work for me.

Though COS falls at a low price point, at its core are basics that are mostly seasonless. “I find the quality to be better than H&M and Zara and less trendy, which means you can rely on them for years to come,” _Vogue'_s Photo Research Editor Maureen Songco says.
