Dog-friendly shops
Many big names on the high street welcome dogs in their shops. This includes John Lewis, the Apple store, Cath Kidston, Harrods, Lush and Selfridges (in limited departments). This list is likely to be much longer, as being 'dog-friendly' is a personal rather than legal decision.
Think about it: Flying can be a stressful experience for your dog. It removes them from comfortable and familiar surroundings, then forces them into a situation with loud noises, bright lights, thousands of people, changes in air pressure and cabin temperature, and a limited ability to use the bathroom.
Alaska Airlines leads the pack to edge out Hawaiian and American Airlines, which tied for second place. Frontier and Southwest are solid options for your pets, with more pet-friendly policies than Spirit, JetBlue and Delta. United is the least pet-friendly airline according to our analysis.
You can purchase a seat for extra floor space. Dogs are not allowed on the seat or your lap but, being able to purchase an empty seat and have your large Dog in cabin on the floor space may be worth the extra seat price.

Selfridges. Another of the iconic departments stores of London, Selfridges β which Oxford Street's store opened in 1909 -, has a dog-friendly policy. However its pet rules are quite restrictive: dogs are allowed in the store only as long as they are held in a bag or carried at all times.

How much does it cost for a dog to fly on an airplane?
Airlines typically charge a $100 to $125 one-way fee to bring your dog in the cabin. And, if you want your pet to fly in the cabin, you'll need to purchase an airline-compliant pet carrier, which can cost from $30 up to $250, according to Consumer Reports.

You can't buy an extra seat for your dog. Traveling with a dog this way, essentially as carry-on luggage, usually incurs a lower fee than if it travels in the belly of the plane. And by the way, a pet in its carrier counts as your carry-on bag.
On by-the-seat flights, pets under 25 pounds can sit in a carrier on their owner's lap for a pet fee of $95. For dogs heavier than 25 pounds, the owner must purchase an additional seat.
