Should I use parchment paper with Cricut EasyPress?
Place a piece of parchment paper over the design and press again with your EasyPress. Make sure you use parchment paper and not freezer paper!
You must use the EasyPress mat, cardstock, butcher paper, and heat resistant tape (optional) when heat pressing an Infusible Ink project. The Library provides these items for Infusible Ink projects.
If you need to use a cover sheet, we recommend silicone paper, parchment paper, or butcher paper. These materials shouldn't affect the amount of heat getting from your top platen to your printing substrate.

I learned this lesson when using my regular iron, you need to be cautious as possible when using heat, and especially with the temperatures that the EasyPress achieves to do sublimation projects, you should always protect them using Teflon sheets! 6- If possible use a Cricut EasyPress mat.
You shall hear a beep sound once the EasyPress is ready. Once the Cricut heat press is ready, place it on top of the fabric. Make sure you're using a parchment paper underneath.
A flat surface works best. And I don't mean an ironing board. Cricut suggests using their EasyPress on a flat surface like a table with a Cricut EasyPress Mat. The mat provides the extra benefits of protecting the surface underneath from heat.

Alternative to EasyPress Mats
If you're not ready to commit to one of these, I highly recommend, as an alternative, a terry cloth towel. You want to make sure that it's folded three or four times to achieve that even pressure you need for good results.

First things first, the most common reason your HTV may not be sticking to your shirt, sweater or whatever else you're applying it to may be because you're not using enough pressure. And pressure is important. Without it, your HTV projects may not be as long lasting as you would like.

Yes. Parchment paper has a coating or an infusion of silicone. Butcher paper does not have a coating.

Iron On Transfer Paper is commonly referred to as 'T-shirt paper' because it is often used to transfer images, text or a combination onto fabrics.
It will not work with Nylon fabrics or plastics (vinyl/PVC, ABS, etc.). Similarly, polyester will not work well with heat transfer materials since the adhesive type cannot bond properly to a plastic-based surface. Also, textured fabrics or loosely knit fabrics are not ideal for use with the heat transfer product.
If you are limited on space and want something portable I would recommend the Cricut Easy Press. If you are running a business then a traditional Heat Press would be my recommendation. It's hard to pick a favorite because both make a good heat press, work for a varitey of material types, and get the job done.
