The way to solve this puzzle is to shoot the tiles that are different than all of the others. This can take place either on the center wall or around the room on the drums. By playing the Legendary campaign, you can skip the soft cap grind entirely and cut 20 levels into the powerful grind. This by far is the most efficient way to level in The Witch Queen.
The beyond light expansion content itself is still accessible, but if I recall correctly, the 4 seasons attached to it no longer are. You won't need to purchase them at least. You can play the campaign and get the exotics tied to it, but I think you've missed out on the last year and a bit of seasonal content.
