When you are in Matric, you must study seven (7) subjects. To pass your Matric, you must do well in six (6) subjects. You are allowed to fail one subject and still pass Matric. It is however best to do well in all seven subjects.

So How Are Matric Results Calculated? All your class work, assignments, tests and exams you do throughout the year before the final exams counts for 25% of your final mark. The external final exam at the end of the year counts for 75%, except for Life Orientation which is 100% internal assessment.
