The original version of FarmVille, which was once the most popular game on Facebook, is officially shutting down. Mark Pincus, chairman of co-founder of California-based game developer Zynga, broke the news on Twitter. “Tomorrow, Zynga shuts down FarmVille on Facebook after 11 years.
The current maximum level for Country Escape is 299. However, players can still accumulate experience points at this level.
It was closed down on February, 2013 just three months after the game's release. CityVille was shut down on April 30, 2015. Players had been given a notice when opening the game prior to the shutdown.
- Launch FV2: Country Escape on your device while connected to the Internet. This will enable your game to detect and download the updates available on our end.

Social games company Zynga has announced it will be closing CityVille on Facebook, marking the end of an era for the once-mega city-building game. As first spotted by CEGamers, CityVille will close its doors on April 30.
Why did Zynga shut down CityVille?
COO David Ko blamed some of CityVille 2's failure on a lack of lead time to properly test the game. Zynga had earlier announced a cost-savings plan that saw the shutdown of 11 titles. This year, the company will be releasing fewer games and spacing their releases further apart, Ko said.

FarmVille 3 will launch worldwide on November 4th, 2021 on iOS and Android, as well as Apple devices equipped with the M1 chip.
