Makeup brand Morphe is being called out by consumers and influencers for staying silent following a video from YouTube beauty guru James Charles, in which he addressed accusations that he's had sexual interactions with underage fans over Snapchat.

But last year Morphe's business relationship with Mr. Charles ended after accusations emerged that the influencer had sent sexual messages to underage boys, the latest in a series of controversies for Morphe and its parent company, Forma Brands.
Makeup retailer Morphe has parted with YouTuber Jeffree Star, after weeks of public acrimony in the YouTube beauty community. Star has been accused of using racist and offensive language, as well as manipulating other creators and people close to him.
While he has been trailblazing in his career, famously becoming CoverGirl's first male ambassador, Charles has also been plagued by scandal for years. In early 2021, he was accused by more than a dozen minors of sending them sexually explicit text messages.
“In light of the recent allegations against James Charles, Morphe and James have agreed to end our business relationship and wind down sales of the Morphe x James Charles product offering,” Morphe said in a statement on Twitter.
Does Morphe still work with James?
James Charles is the latest influencer to be axed by Morphe. After weeks of pressure from the internet to end their relationship with James Charles, cosmetics giant Morphe announced they have officially cut ties with the influencer.

Makeup brand Morphe has removed all of Shane Dawson's collection from its website. The collection, including the Conspiracy palette, Mini Controversy palette, and various lipsticks and lip glosses, which he made in collaboration with Jeffree Star, now do not show up if you search for Dawson's name.
Laura Lee, for example, lost deals with Ulta and other brands as a result of her 2018 racist tweet scandal. According to DeBroff, “When an influencer crosses the line to offensive, as Star has with racially insensitive content, a socially responsible brand will make the decision to cut ties.”
UPDATE 7/14/2020: On July 14, Ulta set all Jeffree Star x Morphe collaboration products on sale, with remaining products all set to 50 percent off. Its is unclear whether or not the reduction in price is in direct response to Morphe severing commercial ties with Jeffree Star Cosmetics.
