What is the wet method?
Wet methods refer to processes of spraying water into a production process to reduce dusts and other airborne particulate matter in the working environment with the goal being to keep employees from inhaling polluted air.
Wet sieving is a method to separate the coarse material with water or another type of liquid before drying, identifying and analysing. It is a method that can be used to prepare samples, for example, removing the fines, breaking down agglomerates or negate static charges.
The dry processing method is preferred by those who enjoy an enhanced body and complexity in their coffee. The wet processing method is preferred by those who enjoy clarity and acidity.
Moist-heat cooking methods use water, liquid or steam to transfer heat to food. Common moist-heat cooking methods include: poaching, simmering, boiling, braising, stewing, pot roasting, steaming and en papillote. Dry-heat cooking methods involve the circulation of hot air or direct contact to fat to transfer heat.
Make sure the surface is completely dry and untouched before you try to put your vinyl on. Still having trouble? If you have cleaned your surface well with rubbing alcohol but your vinyl is still not sticking, try leaving the transfer tape on the vinyl for a bit after applying it onto the surface.
Wet sieving can be used to remove fines of materials that may be difficult to sieve, prior to drying and testing a sample normally. The wet sieving procedure applies to solids with the following properties: Practically insoluble in water. Not affected by water; for example, solids that expand when wet would not work.
Dry sieving maintains large soil aggregates sizes (> 2 mm) but is usually limited to the size fractions > 250 μm. In contrast, wet sieving can separate soil aggregates from various size classes and in particular smaller sizes (< 250 μm).
Wet or liquid dispersion is the most common method of sample dispersion for laser diffraction particle size measurements, being especially suitable for samples containing fine particles below a few microns in size.
To use the wet vinyl transfer method, you'll need some permanent vinyl; any color is fine. If you want to make a shadowbox like mine, choose contrasting colors for you vinyl and background. For your transfer material, you can use either regular standard grip transfer tape OR transfer paper.

What is the dry method?
"Don't repeat yourself" (DRY) is a principle of software development aimed at reducing repetition of information which is likely to change, replacing it with abstractions that are less likely to change, or using data normalization which avoids redundancy in the first place.
Most recipes for bread dough or batter call for combining the dry ingredients separately from the liquid ingredients and then stirring the wet stuff into the dry, rather than the other way around.
The general rule of baking, whether it be cookie dough, cake mix or pancake batter, is as follows: dry ingredients should be combined together thoroughly in one bowl BEFORE adding liquids. Liquid ingredients should ALWAYS be mixed separately before they've been added to the dry ingredients.
Common dry-heat cooking methods include: pan frying, searing, roasting, sauteing, sweating, stir-frying, shallow- and deep-frying, grilling, broiling, baking and rotisserie cooking.
If your vinyl isn't sticking, you can use heat to affix it better. Use a hairdryer or heat gun on the surface of the self-adhesive vinyl while applying it to your desired surface. Using heat will help it conform to any uneven surfaces a little quicker.
Look for adhesives specially formulated for use with these materials. The best glue to use on flexible plastics is Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic Flexible Adhesive. It's a clear liquid adhesive that's waterproof, dries clear, and creates a flexible bond that won't break down or yellow from UV/sunlight exposure.
We have used Mod Podge (not 'Modge Podge' as I know lots of us call it) successfully for a lot of our projects, including sealing over vinyl, making custom photo canvases, and glittering pretty things. Mod Podge is also non-toxic and generally safe to use with older kids.
Rub petroleum jelly over the vinyl to loosen it. Then grab a detergent and rub it over the same spot. Hand-wash the mixture off, and the vinyl will disappear.
Sometimes the culprit to air bubbles is the way the decal is applied. Rule of thumb, when you peel the sticker to apply to the surface of your project, ensure that you remove the backing of the transfer tape gently, applying even and small amount of pressure as you work your way from one edge to the other edge.
Peel away the vinyl liner at a 45-degree angle. If the vinyl does not separate from the liner, simply burnish the Transfer Tape onto the vinyl and peel away again.
Do you flip permanent vinyl?
To sum it all up, do not mirror permanent vinyl, the same concept applies to removable vinyl. Use transfer tape to transfer the design so you can stick it to the merchandise. Always scale the design prior to sending it to the cutting machine, and always use a cutting mat.
Yes, you can apply heat on permanent vinyl. You can use an iron or heat press to make the vinyl adhere to your surface of choice. However, you must not expose the vinyl to heat for too long because this may cause irreparable damage to your vinyl and surface.
Wet washing sieves are extremely useful where samples need to be separated with the help of liquids. These sieves are available in 200 mm or 8 inch diameter (4 or 8 inches deep), with brass or stainless steel frames.

Cleaning Vinyl Window Decals
To clean your vinyl window decals, you should: Moisten a clean micro-fibre cloth with hot water and add a drop of liquid dish soap to the cloth. Dish soap is a mild detergent that can be used to safely clean and remove grease and residue without harming or discolouring the vinyl decal.
Remove grease from vinyl floors with Dawn dish soap
Dawn is great at cutting through grease in dirty pans, but it also does the same thing on vinyl floors. If the floor around your stove is especially hard to clean, fill a bucket with a gallon of warm water, and include a few drops of Dawn, per Apartment Therapy.
The application fluid helps float the graphic onto the resulting surface to prevent the vinyl from sticking before you want it to. Nevertheless, for most vinyl installations, you should not apply the graphics wet, especially if you can do a dry application.

How do you apply vinyl perfectly?
Peel a small section of the paper and fold it back on itself. Emphasis on the 'small' here guys – if you peel off the back completely, you will almost end up sticking the vinyl to itself or even your hands. Next, line up and apply the area with the exposed adhesive to the surface and rub down gently with a squeegee.
Temperature Recommendations:
Surface temperatures should be between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit before attempting the installation. Vinyl can be applied in cooler temperatures but adhesion is more difficult.
Placing in the wrong temperature water: It is best to place your decal into room temperature to lukewarm water. The colder the water the longer it may take for the adhesive to activate and warm to hot water may activate the adhesive faster; however, faster is not always better.
You need a smooth surface for a vinyl wrap to stick properly. Vinyl wraps will not adhere well to rusted metal, untreated wood, or other rough surfaces. Rough surfaces can also make your graphic deteriorate quickly.
If a vinegar solution or dish soap mixture doesn't quite cut it when cleaning the vinyl floors in your kitchen, then you might want to upgrade your cleaning solution to include Dawn dish soap. Dawn is great at cutting through grease in dirty pans, but it also does the same thing on vinyl floors.
Wash your wrap once a week or more often if your vehicle is exposed to a lot of dirt or pollutants. You should hand wash it using 3M® Car Wash Soap 39000, or Meguiar's NXT Generation® Car Wash or Deep Crystal® Car Wash.
