What size is an XXL equal to?
An XL is usually equivalent to a 1X and an XXL is like a 2X.
The main difference between 2XL and XXL is that XXL is usually a half size bigger than XL. 2XL is usually larger overall than XXL. When you see 2XL, it usually means that the clothing is both double large and also longer.
2XL is usually a half size bigger than XXL, which means that 2XL is the larger of the two sizes and is only used for obese clothing sizes. XXL is a linear progression of the size above the large size of clothing, whereas 2XL is a multiplication of the size XL, which makes it significantly larger than XXL.

An XXL and a 2X are not the same, even though the size charts are identical. A 2X Big is cut larger, especially in the mid section. I order both the XXL and the 2X, the 2X is substantially larger around the midsection. The chest and arms fit about the same.
1X makes it all the more confusing. Whether you are shopping for men's or women's clothing, XL and 1X sizes are not the same. XL refers to standard sizing for men, and misses' sizing for women. While 1X refers to women's plus size clothing; made with curvy women in mind.

We may have become accustomed to constant chopping and changing between an S or an M, but most of us are in agreement that a size 14 is by no means an XL, as it was described in Asos's size guide this week.
