What actor from MASH just died 2021?
LOS ANGELES - Wayne Rogers, whose Trapper John McIntyre alongside Alan Alda's Hawkeye Pierce brought mischief, martinis and meatball surgery to the masses in the 1970s every week on "M.A.S.H.," has died.
Swit inherited the star-making role from actress Sally Kellerman, who portrayed Houlihan in the feature film.
Sally Kellerman, the Oscar and Emmy-nominated actor who played Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan in director Robert Altman's 1970 film M*A*S*H, has died. Kellerman died of heart failure at her home Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, her manager and publicist Alan Eichler said.
Rogers enjoyed working with Alda and the rest of the cast as a whole (Alda and Rogers quickly became close friends), but eventually chafed that the writers were devoting the show's best humorous and dramatic moments to Alda.
Written by Everett Greenbaum and Jim Fritzell, it was first aired by CBS on March 18, 1975. This highly rated episode remains notable for its shocking ending: the (off-screen) death of Colonel Henry Blake.

Loretta Swit tried to quit this show during the tenth season, because she was up for one the leads in Cagney & Lacey (1981), but neither CBS nor 20th Century Fox would let her out of her contract.
