The movie tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy), the visionary physicist who led the Manhattan Project to create the atomic bomb that would be used against Japan in the final days of World War II.
1) Oswald Mosley
Intelligent, ruthless, and unpredictable, Mosley is skilled at subtly provoking the Shelbys into making predictable moves. Beyond his Machiavellian intellect, Oswald Mosley may be the Peaky Blinder's most dangerous enemy yet because of the ideology he represents.
The most powerful member of the Peaky Blinders was a man known as Kevin Mooney. His real name was Thomas Gilbert, but he routinely changed his last name. Other prominent members of the gang were David Taylor, Earnest Haynes, Harry Fowles, and Stephen McNickle.
Tommy recruits his former friend Barney to do the killing, which is planned to happen on the night of Mosley's speech, when Tommy is also on the stage, to keep the suspicion that the Peaky Blinders are involved at bay. Unfortunately, the assassination does not go as planned, and Mosley is able to escape alive.
Tommy Shelby is not afraid to assert his dominance when necessary. He is not aggressive or confrontational, but he knows how to take control of a situation and make sure that his voice is heard. This trait makes him appear more powerful and in control, which only adds to his charisma and alpha male energy.
Back in Birmingham, Thomas is held and beaten by Sabini's men, while his sister Ada is abducted. Sabini's men attempt to kill Thomas but he is saved by Chester Campbell.
reliance on alcohol, drugs, and violence to cope with his inner demons is a clear indication of his vulnerability. Additionally, his intense loyalty to his family and friends, while admirable, can also be viewed as a weakness.
Taking audiences by surprise at the climax of season 4, episode 1, "The Noose," the character is shot dead outside his house in front of Esme and Michael, his wife and brother, by one of the goons hired to eliminate the Blinders at the command of key antagonist Luca Changretta.
Thomas Michael Shelby is the leader of the Birmingham criminal gang, the Peaky Blinders and the patriarch of the Shelby Family. After serving in World War I with the rank of Sergeant Major, Tommy was decorated for bravery.

Who betrayed Tommy?
Billy Grade (Emmett J Scanlan) is revealed to be the informant or 'black cat' that betrayed the Peaky Blinders. In the last season, Finn informed him that Tommy had devised a plan to kill Mosley, and it was happening that night.
He had tuberculoma in his brain stem, a growth caused by the same bacteria as the lung disease, doubtless picked up from daughter Ruby (Orla McDonagh). It wasn't infectious but it was inoperable. The symptoms (seizures, dissociation, hallucinations, sharp cheekbones – I may have added the last one) chimed with Tommy's.
When the bomb goes off, Michael is irked to discover that his job wasn't completed after all, and someone like Tommy doesn't die quite that easily. After one final speech-off, Tommy shoots him in the eye, ending Polly's prophecy that there'll be a war, and one of them will die.
How Old Tommy Shelby Is At The Beginning Of Peaky Blinders. Thomas Michael Shelby was born in 1890, making him 29 years old at the beginning of Peaky Blinders. Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy, was in his mid-30s at the time of shooting the first season.
Tommy gave the sapphire to Bethany Barwell, who took it to her sister Evadne, who in turn put it around her daughter's neck. 7-year-old Connie died the next day, and according to Esme, it was Evadne that put the curse on Tommy to lose his daughter when she turns seven.
That is, until season five debuted, introducing Oswald Mosley, the latest villain for the Shelby family to face off against. Unlike Tommy Shelby's previous adversaries, Mosley, who will continue to be a thorn in Birmingham's side in season six, is based on an actual historical figure.
When she comes to London, she meets Thomas and they make love. She later reveals to him that not only is she still in love with him, but she's now carrying his child. In Series 3, the pair marry and are happy living in a beautiful country estate with their young son, Charles.

How tall is Thomas Shelby? Thomas Shelby is 5 foot 8 inches (1.73 m) tall as portrayed by Cillian Murphy.
Thomas Shelby is not afraid of very much, it's fair to say, but fear is there despite what Cillian says. Each series has a different Tommy to think about: in the first series he is very much dealing with the trauma he brought back from the tunnels. Confronting that is his worst fear and makes him violent.
Is Tommy Shelby a real person?
Firstly, Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, and most of the other main characters, are fictional. And, while Peaky Blinders is set in the years following the First World War, the real gang mainly operated from the late 19th century until the start of the war.
Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson) was a fan favorite throughout Peaky Blinders, and while he wrestled with addiction and ideations of death, he managed to survive the final episode on the mainline TV series. His ultimate fate remains to be decided in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.
In 'Black Shirt', Tommy tells Jack Nelson that the first person he ever killed was “a Prussian boy with green eyes” who “was already underground”, and we can presume that's who Tommy is hallucinating/remembering in season six.
The following characters are deceased: Grace Shelby. John Shelby. Polly Gray.
Cillian Murphy also said he married her for loyalty. By s4, she was not a prostitute but a secretary-cum- friend with benefits. She is low maintenance, he had no emotional hassle with her and basically did what was told. So its a marriage of convenience overall.
