Devon Aoki is one of the shortest high fashion models out there, and has enjoyed a lot of success through her career. In the late 90s, she became the face of Versace and also posed for Chanel, Kenzo, Moschino, Fendi and many more. How tall is she? Just 5'5".

Too Tall To Ride
Crazily enough, there are restrictions within petite modeling. Unsurprisingly you can be too tall, but you can also be too short to fit into the standard that is expected. Women must ideally sit between 5'1 – 5'7 and men should be above 5'4 and under 5'9.
Petites have a smaller frame size and shorts are an average frame size who happen to be shorter. A true petite should weigh about 2 to 3 pounds for every inch over five foot, plus 100 lbs. Meaning, a 5'4″ true petite fit model should weigh about 108-115 lbs.
Aside from Kate Moss, Devon Aoki is considered to be one of the most well known petite models. Her career began in 1997 when it was controversial to have shorter models on the runway. Devon was sixteen when she was launched into stardom. In 1998 the petite model replaced Naomi Campbell as the face of Versace.
Are there petite runway models?
Petite models can work in commercial, catalogue, glamour and body-part modelling just like “normal” sized models (who are around 5'8 plus). A petite model generally measures between 5'2” and 5'6” tall. Their hip, waist and bust sizes also tend to mirror their height (slightly smaller than the average male or female).

Most Angels have a body measurement of 32-22-32 - this means a 32" bust, a 22" waist and 34" hips. This means that Victoria Secret models have a classic hourglass figure (which is when the bust and hip measurements are at least ten inches wider than the waist.

The Model Coaches recommend keeping things in perspective by remembering that acne does not have to hold you back from your dreams and that even though it might be bothering you today, it might not be a hurdle forever. Keep in mind as well that the acne has no effect on the genetic gifts that make you model material.
When showing off their newest fashions, designers obviously want their outfits to look as beautiful as possible. What makes a model face?
Many modeling agencies and cosmetic brands look for a symmetrical face with even features. Because shots are extreme close-ups, so casting agents will be on the lookout for detailed face features like eyes, lips, eyebrows, cheekbones, and jawlines. Many successful models do not have these qualities.
First, check that your height is within the requirements set by agencies to do petite modeling. Although the heights can differ between agencies, petite model women are typically between 5'1” and 5'7”, while petite model men are generally between 5'4” and 5'9”.
Child models range from a few weeks old to the age of fourteen, so there isn't a “too young” limitation on modelling. The best age to start fashion modelling is as soon as you can! You can begin as a child model and progress through to fashion modelling.
High-fashion modeling is the highest-paid division of modeling work in the industry. Models in high fashion wear designer clothes, have their pictures taken frequently and travel extensively.
The Straight Body Shape
You know you have a straight body type if you have the same measurements for all sections of your body. This body type is popularly known as the supermodel body. It is also called a rectangular or ruler body. Since it does not have a well-defined waistline, the body tends to look straight.
Modeling requires hard work, determination, and the ability to follow directions quickly and efficiently, posing in particular ways or recreating looks for hours at a time. You will need to have a variety of poses in your arsenal for the type of modeling you are pursuing.
According to the National Institutes of Health, a woman should weigh roughly 100 lbs. for the first 5 feet of height and then an additional 5 lbs. for every inch over this height. If you're 5 feet 4 inches tall, your ideal body weight is right around 120 lbs.

1 Height, Measurements and Age
Victoria's Secret has a height requirement similar to all high fashion: between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall. Anyone shorter than 5 feet 8 inches is typically not considered. In addition to height, models must meet specific measurement requirements in order to model designer clothing.
Petite models are usually sought after for particular types of modeling jobs such as, swimsuit modeling, lingerie, hand, feet and parts modeling, and other jobs that don't require the height of a runway model. They can also find jobs as fit and showroom models working with garment manufacturers and suppliers.
Models with very low Body Mass Index (BMI) are regarded as size 0 models. It is a measure of body fat based on height and weight of a person. BMI is calculated by taking the weight in pounds (1 kg = 2.2 pounds) and dividing it by the height in feet.
The Angels are each trained through rigorous diet and exercise to fit a certain physique. The show doesn't encourage its cast to look like the healthiest version of themselves, but instead requires them to conform to a standard of beauty that is unrealistic even for the models themselves.
The average Victoria's Secret model has a 23.6-inch waist, down an inch from 20 years ago. Their hips average 34.4 inches.
