Why are plus-sized models a thing?
Plus-size modelling is meant to empower these women to feel great in their own skin. But sometimes it makes them feel that they're not good enough being the way they are. Fat acceptance and body positivity movements have increased over the last few years.

Therefore, being a size eight is considered plus-size to Koreans. At times, it can even be rare to find an L or an XL. That would fit like a medium if you were in Europe or North America.
But what size is plus size considered to be? Clothing stores can make it difficult to put a number on plus-size. Some departments may designate a size 12 as plus-size while others use a size 14. But according to Modeling Wisdom, plus-size models often fall into the range of sizes 8 to 12.

Some clothing lines consider anything a size 14 or above a “plus” size, while others start their plus sizing at a 16 or 18.
XL and 1X are not the same size but can overlap at a 36-inch waist. Otherwise, XL is smaller than 1X. 1X is used in women's clothing as a size equivalent to XL and some XXL male clothing.

According to the fashion world, plus-size models should weigh between 161 and 205 lbs and have a chest size range between 41 and 45. However, not all plus size women qualify as plus-size models since the waist and hip ratio is considered in the body type.
According to Comparably, plus-size models in the United States make between $10,060 and $181,237 a year, with an average salary of $35,429.

In 2020, the average weight of South Korean women aged 19 years or younger was 59.36 kilograms. Women across all age categories tended to have similar weight averages, with the exception of women aged 80 years and older, who weighed significantly less.
In short, the S-Line is used to describe women who have a well-shaped and curvy (or an hourglass) figure. This body shape is one of the most desirable body shapes defined by ample breasts and buttocks when viewed from the side.
This is what might politely be called the chubby category, with body mass indexes (a measure of weight for height) of 25 to 30. A woman, for instance, who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs between 146 and 175 pounds.

It's not a matter of being fat. You can have an average BMI or body fat percentage and still be a size 10-14. Most of the successful plus-sized models keep healthy and work out but maintain the needed size.
Ahn, a double-board-certified plastic surgeon in Boston, told Allure. "Models continue to value the importance of overall facial balance, so if the lower third of the face and neck are out of balance with more volume, the overall facial aesthetic is affected negatively."
She recommends doing planks, side planks, Russian twists, bicycle crunches and mountain climbers for flat abs. Lagree says you should start off slowly with a few repetitions and gradually work your way to more.
