Some brands are completely sustainable, others have sustainable couture sections. Here are our favorite eco-friendly high fashion designers. 1. Stella McCartney
Ahead of the curve, and unknown to many, Stella McCartney’s fashion has always been sustainable. In a 2016 interview with Vogue, Stella McCartney dove into her desire to create a sustainable couture brand by asserting her problem with many previous eco-friendly clothing. “It was often scratchy and oatmeal-y. What’s the point of designing an oatmeal shirt if nobody buys it? It would go to a landfill, and that would be just as bad.” Bad her pieces are not. Her stunning designs are frequently shown off by celebrities at events around the world.
2. EDUN
The fair trade luxury brand EDUN is determined to create long term roots to bring opportunities to communities in Africa. Their social media reflects a balance between the beautiful pieces and the stories behind how they came to fruition.
