However, a dependable housekeeper is a priceless asset, and a good personal connection can lead to an endearing relationship. Expect to pay around $18 an hour, or between $40-50 for a mucama to come once a week. Add another $5 per visit to cover transportation costs, as many cleaners travel great distances to get to work. For longer shifts (more than 3 hours) it’s also expected that you’ll offer lunch or refreshments.

These companies will verify your background, their employees, and the safety of your residence and belongings. However, the best way to find a reliable and trustworthy mucama is to ask for personal references. Remember, these people have access to your home and your personal valuable things.
