Fifth Streets are topping the list of the most expensive blocks across the country.
If you've been to New York City, you've undoubtedly visited the famous Fifth Avenue. Lined with luxury boutiques and impressive apartments, Upper Fifth Ave is the second most expensive street to live on…in the world.
But, dig a little deeper, and you'll find that it's not just Manhattan's Fifth Avenue that will cost a pretty penny to call home. Across the U.S., streets with "fifth" in their names have the priciest real estate, reports Realtor.com.
New York City still tops the list, with the average listing at$2.25 million, but no matter where elseyou go in the U.S., fifth avenues and streets still have the highest median prices.
If you're looking to save, there are a few other numbered streets you'll want to consider avoiding, according to Realtor.com. Lownumber streetstend to be filled with more expensive real estate, butmedian prices actuallygo down as street numbers go up.
Of course, there are other factors that determine home costs. Streets closer to water or spectacular views will cost more, for instance, regardless of their names.
We already knew that the right zip code could bump a home's price up,but who knew a name–or in this case, a number–could be just as valuable?
