Biography

Bethany 'Beth' Dutton-Wheeler is a main character on Yellowstone and John Dutton III.'s daughter. She is a former head of acquisitions at Schwartz & Meyer a leading Financial firm in the U.S. Originally working out of Salt lake City, UT and Formerly at the Bozeman, MT. She was let go from her position when Market Equities became accidental Majority shareholders after a failed attempt by Beth to pump and dump the stock.

Early Life

Born to John Dutton III. and Evelyn Dutton on July 18, 1984. As the middle child it wasn't easy for Beth. in 1997 Beth accidentally caused her Mother's horse to rear and buck her off causing her death. Life got even more harder for her when John started to resent her. She started to rebel by drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. She started hanging out eventually courting Rip Wheeler when he arrived at the ranch. Rip accidentally gets Beth Pregnant, fearing for what would happen to Rip and her from her father, she kept this information from Rip. She sought the help from her brother Jamie Dutton who fearing being recognized as the Dutton daughter, took her to a Broken Rock parental clinic. Upon arrival Jamie was informed that all Women seeking abortions were required to be sterilized in the process. Jamie kept this information from Beth until after the procedure and made her believe it was beyond her control. Jamie and Beth kept this to themselves until it was revealed to John almost twenty years later.

Later Life

Beth rose to become a fearsome banker and joined Schwartz & Meyer in her early 20's becoming head of Acquisitions in the Northwest. Beth has had a continual on and off relationship with Rip Wheeler but eventually Marries him after asking John and buying Rip a ring due to him not asking himself out of fear of rejection from John. Beth due to her rebellious nature developed an alcohol dependency and it often centers around and influences her decisions. despite this she is still the current executor of the Estate of the ranch bestowed upon her after John had treatment for cancer.

When Beth is visiting John in the Hospital she comes across Carter a troubled boy caught up in youth crime and is taken to say goodbye to his Father who is declared Brain dead after a battle with Opium addiction. Carter is taken in by Beth and Rip and becomes almost a foster child to them, after a rocky start with Rip he becomes a regular ranch hand on the YDR.

Assassination Attempt

in You're the Indian Now while driving home she crosses paths with Roarke Morris who was Fly Fishing on a section of river owned by the Dutton's which he claimed he walked five miles downstream to be there and claims no trespassing. unbeknownst to Beth, Roarke is her counterpart for a rival investment firm Market Equities, after an aggressive talk with Roarke she leaves him be. Roarke is also the fixer for Market Equities and when he hired Wade Morrow to stir trouble and beat on some YDR cowboys failed, Roarke hired mercenaries to take out the entire Dutton Family. after Beth was let go from Schwartz & Meyer she came back to clean out her office. Her assistant found a parcel addressed to Beth, before she could stop her assistant from opening the box, it exploded killing her assistant instantly and send Beth back in the blast which caused her multiple lacerations with permanent scarring and burns all over her back. after the Duttons slowly track down each member of the Mercenaries and execute them, Rip who is not known to Roarke finds him Fly Fishing, Rip acts as a good samaritin, asks Roarke if the cooler he found was his, he approaches Roarke in the river who gets defensive only for Rip to open the cooler and launch a Prairie Rattlesnake at him which bites Roarke on his cheek. Roarke panics and starts to run away from Rip but all that physical exertion the Venom from the snake has circulated through his body rapidly causing him to collapse and die almost instantly. Rip collects the cooler and leaves Roarke to rot staging his death as an accident.
