SEVENTEEN takes top spot in January 2024 boy group brand reputation ranking
For over 5 years, BTS have been dominating the monthly brand reputation ranking conducted by the Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute. However, January 2024's reputation ranking has seen a significant shift in rankings. A new K-pop group has taken over the top spot and it is none other than SEVENTEEN.
SEVENTEEN takes top spot in brand reputation ranking
While the boy group brand reputation rankings change on a monthly basis, BTS have always managed to bag the top spot over the last 67 months. However, in January 2024, SEVENTEEN dethroned the reigning kings to take over the ranking. Now, if you are wondering if BTS came second, you're highly mistaken because the global icons have unfortunately dropped to third place. NCT has secured the second position on the coveted ranking list.

For the unversed, the Korean Business Research Institute calculates and publishes the brand reputation rankings of the top K-pop idols and groups every month. To do so, the institute collects data for a comprehensive consumer behavior analysis to find the brand reputation index. The brand reputation index is analyzed by measuring consumers' participation, media coverage, communication and community indexes for the idol or group. With this analysis, each K-pop idol or group's brand reputation index is discovered and then used to determine the rankings.
Why aren't BTS #1?
BTS couldn't bag the top spot on the ranking list as their brand points have declined by approximately 47% since December 2023. This is understandable considering all the members are currently completing their mandatory military. They will reunite as seven by June 2025.
