Crafting Tier 3 Gear and Obtaining Ancient Naxxramas Patterns
Prior to Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5, Tier 3 sets were available only from the Black Market, but now that the old Naxxramas has returned Tier 3 gear is alternatively obtainable through professions, even though materials could cost more gold than buying out T3 items on BMAH. In this guide we will cover all nuances of Tier 3 crafting!
Creating Makeshift Grappling Hook
The first step is creating Makeshift Grappling Hook which will be used for moving around several points in Naxxramas. Making Makeshift Grappling Hook will require these materials found in Naxxramas:
- 1. Faerlina's Sewing Kit - drops from Grand Widow Faerlina;
- 2. Construct's Hook - located in the 2nd room of the Construct Quarter, by a vat of slime to the right;
- 3. Abomination's Chain - can be fished from any slime pool in Naxxramas;
After you have obtained all 3 items just combine them to create Makeshift Grappling Hook. Several grapple points will appear in certain areas of Naxxramas and Grappling Hook will allow you to climb them!
Finding Zackett Skullsmash
Step two is location a goblin named Zackett Skullsmash who is located above Thaddius's room and requires the grappling hook to reach. Once you have reached him, the NPC will appear "sleeping", bored of life. To wake him up, use Stratholme Holy Water on him. Once Zackett wakes up he will give you a quest Inconvenience Fee which requires you to collect some Classic materials.
Upon completing the quest, return to Zackett Skullsmash in Naxxramas and wake him up with another vial of Stratholme Holy Water. Once the quest is finished, he will move to the central ring of Naxxramas and start selling his goods.
Death's Bargaining Chips
Zackett takes Scourgestones looted from Naxxramas, Stratholme and Scholomance in exchange for Death's Bargaining Chip:
- 1x Invaders's Scourgestone looted from any bosses in Stratholme and Sholomance gives 1 Death's Bargaining Chip;
- 10x Corruptor's Scourgestone gives 1 Death's Bargaining Chip;

How to craft Tier 3
Creating Tier 3 pieces requires huge amount of gold, luck, and someone with the actual Drop Dead, Gorgeous T3 achievement previously earned on BMAH. So, this is the step-by-step guide on what you have to do in order to craft Tier 3 pieces:
- 1. Loot a Lamented Crusader's piece of gear from Zackett Skullsmash. This may take an impressive amount of time and Death's Bargaining Chip due to RNG.
- 2. Repair the Lamented Crusader's item by using one of the respective Naxxramas materials: Cursed Cloth, Languished Leather, Scourged Scales, Undeath Metal. Recipes for these materials require achievement Drop Dead, Gorgeous from collecting a full Tier 3 set. This will turn Lamenter item into a Desecrated Item.
- 3. Once you have obtained a piece of Desecrated gear you may purify it with Phylacterweave and Righteous Orb. A complete Tier 3 set would cost 1400 Phylacterweave (2.8 million gold) and 80 Righteous Orb.
