My eye doctor prescribed me bifocals because I have trouble seeing things at a distance and up close. Am I allowed to wear my bifocals when I’m driving?

Good on you for taking care of your eye health and for
staying safe
on the road! You can absolutely wear bifocals while driving. They are perfectly legal and safe to wear while driving when prescribed by an eye doctor.
Let’s talk about bifocal lenses.
Bifocals are glasses that have a corrective prescription for seeing things at a distance at the top of the lens, and a corrective prescription for reading things up close at the bottom.
The magnification on your bifocals should not be distracting, but if you find it to be so, you might consider trying progressive lenses, for a smoother transition.
Fun fact: the first bifocal was invented by Benjamin Franklin!
