Club Wear in Paris

Hi Forum!
I am getting married in Paris, June 2013, and I have about 50 guests coming from the US and England.
I am not really into the club scene, but many of my guests would like to go clubbing while in Paris. I have heard that there are some pretty strict rules concerning club attire, especially for men. Can anyone please tell me some of the general guidelines for club attire so I can make suggestions for what everyone should wear?
For example, are nice fitted jeans allowed for either men or women? Are there shoe guidelines?
If there is a club that is your favorite in the city, I would be interested to hear about it, as well!
Thanks!
Di

No athletic shoes and no jeans are the two principal rules in the snooty clubs.

The longer the line to get in, the stricter the dress code...but it's usually more flexible for pretty girls - I have a friend who "got in" wearing pajamas (on a slow night)
If it's a large group going, get there early to avoid the waiting in line...just like the US, really...
I think Le Queen is an iconic Paris club - kind of a landmark, and a big starter for David Guetta's career... Lots of other famous clubs on/near the Champs Elysees.
I also used to really like Barrio Latino near Bastille - and there are lots of bars nearby if you get tired of dancing (dress code is more casual at the Barrio, but still no sneakers)...

Go on-line to a few like Queen and reserve a table of course and bottle service. That gets you in pronto and treated better the single guy hanging out in front for 2 hours :).

If the guests just want to go to a music venue/bar like the Batofar or the Flèche d'Or, no need to dress up.

Nice of you to come back about this -- I had long forgotten that we were talking about an event in the distant future.

Congratulations fellow Hoosier on your upcoming nuptials. So your bypassing the Scottish Rites Cathedral here where all the big wigs wed?
Paris sounds much more romantic.
Not certain of the area of Paris your guest will be staying but I did find this for you. http://www.myparistrips.com/paris-night-clubs.html
I had considered Mix in Montparnasse tower for our upcoming trip. You can view video's of it on youtube.
I haven't been to Paris yet but I would be willing to bet the best of clubs there are going to require better attire then the Indy area. Better safe then sorry they should dress up as good if not better then if in Vegas.
In all of my years of clubbing the only way to guarantee entry for the whole group especially if it's a bunch a men is to reserve a VIP table with bottle service. Usually very pricey.
Again congratulations and have a great honeymoon.
