Turn them inside out, and either wash them in cold water in the sink or in the bathtub, where they can be placed down flat.

Laundered diesel

As the fuel is the same, off-road diesel is marked with a harmless dye to distinguish it from road diesel. Illegal traders remove this dye and sell it as road fuel. Diesel is 'laundered' or washed by removing the dye, either using acid or passing it through filters.

Unfortunately, gasoline and diesel are extremely flammable. When fuels get spilled onto clothing, you cannot simple wash them in a washing machine to remove the diesel.

Diesel #2 is used for trucks that carry heavy loads, while diesel #1 is used for regular driving. Truckers should use diesel #2 because it's the best option for driving long distances at consistent speeds. Diesel #2 is also less volatile and gives better fuel economy.

Diesel #1 is also known as winter diesel because it performs better than Diesel #2 in cold temperatures. It has a lower viscosity and is not prone to gel in freezing temperatures. Most stations offer a premium Diesel mix that is blended for local weather conditions. Diesel #2 costs less at the pump.

#1 grade products have less energy components and are more expensive that their chief counterpart, #2 grade products. However, it rarely has problems in cold weather conditions, which is completely the opposite of #2 grade. This is because paraffin (a type of wax) has been removed from the chemical mix.

Most reports and my own experience with Diesel is that they are true to size.

Diesel tends to run a little bit large, normally I wear a 32x32 in most jeans (lucky brand, AG, 7's), but I wear a 31x30 in these. The 32's are extremely large in the waste for me, and the 32 length drags on the ground. Overall, the fit, feel, and look of these is awesome. I would highly recommend them.

Wearing new clothes straight from the store — without washing them — probably won't kill you, but it can cause some nasty reactions, and has the potential to pass along some ickiness that maybe you'd rather not know about.

A good rule of thumb is to wash your jeans after every 3-10 wears, or when they start to smell. If you're regularly active in your jeans (think: manual work, anything where you work up a sweat), wash them every 3 wears, but if you're working at a desk, you can probably go through multiple wears without washing.

The point of not washing them for as long as possible is to avoid breaking down the fibres of the denim, to preserve the deep indigos and the stiff (you might say, uncomfortable) feel of the fabric that makes them so appealing to start with.

Use a delicate or gentle cycle

Denim may seem like a tough fabric, but that doesn't mean you should choose a heavy duty wash cycle. Instead, opt for a delicate or gentle cycle, and use cold water to avoid shrinking or fading.

Moreover, diesel is made with sulfur and nitrogen, which gives it a strong odor. It also evaporates slower than gasoline, causing it to seep into your clothing that much more. This means diesel can easily penetrate fabric with a pungent smell, stain clothing, and stick around even after a good wash.

If you have a stained garment that is labeled dry clean only, take it to the dry cleaner as soon as possible and point out and identify the stain. It is not safe to use a home dry cleaning kit for items stained with gasoline or diesel fuel.
