How can anyone afford Disney World? ›

We've also been known to do a split-stay, where we stay at a value resort for the first day or two and move to a moderate or deluxe resort for the end of our trip in order to save a little money. Lastly, you can also save by buying fewer park ticket days.

Cash is widely accepted throughout Walt Disney World's theme parks, resorts, and at Disney Springs. I find that using cash at Disney World helps me budget how much I spend daily and has always been super convenient.

Visiting Disney on a Budget

As you can see, it's totally possible to visit Disney World for under $1000 a person. Using the calculations above, it would cost around $2,000 for a family of 4. That's pretty impressive when you recognize that the usual cost is between $3000 and $5000 for a family of that size.

I have brought $100 bills to WDW several times and have never had any trouble having them accepted in the parks and resorts. If you had any concerns, you could go to the front desk of your hotel and periodically ask them to change your $100s into $20s. They should be able to do this for you with no problem at all.

In general, the months of January and February (except for the days around Presidents Day weekend) are usually priced lower than during mid-March through April when many schools have spring break. Early May is also a good time to visit as well as later August and also September.

Per Disneyland's admission policy, only children ages 2 and younger can enter the park without an admission ticket. Children, ages 2 and under also don't require an admission ticket for Walt Disney World theme parks.

Speaking of snacks, you are allowed to bring outside food into the Disney theme parks, given that they are not in glass containers, and do not require heating, cooking, and refrigeration. If you're looking to plan a Disney World vacation, there's a wide range of prices available to you. For a family of three or four, you'll probably want to assume you're spending at least $3500, with $5000-6000 being a comfortable amount, and $10000 being enough to make anyone's dreams come true.

Disney World ticket prices vary by park and date, but one-day tickets for the Magic Kingdom (typically the most expensive of Disney's four parks) average $160. Prices drop the longer you stay — for example, five-day, one-park-per-day tickets average $643 (that's $129 per day). $109 to $189. $160.

So, for family of 5 with tip and tax - 200 dollars. Easily, without any other costs, you have 400 dollars for food and snacks. Definitely plan on 500 dollars per day, just to be safe. Obviously, not every day will have souvenir costs, so that extra hundred might not be spent every day.

Special 3-Day 3-Park Ticket

Guests can purchase a special 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket to Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park only starting at $89 per day, plus tax (total price starting at $267 plus tax)—This is a date-based ticket with start dates from April 2 through September 24, 2024.
