The COVID-19 pandemic has created record-breaking shipment volumes. As more people shop online to avoid crowds in stores, those numbers have grown even more. This has created shipping volumes that are taxing logistics networks nationwide, which may cause delays.

FedEx's earnings contracted in a similar way during the last three recessions — in 2020, 2009, and 2001, according to analysts at Barclays. FedEx, which operates in more than 200 countries, says it has had trouble navigating economic challenges in Europe and Asia recently.

Refuse a signature required package by telling the driver you don't want the package and refusing to sign for it. For most businesses, refusal of packages can be done by a receptionist or gatekeeper. Remember, don't sign acknowledging receipt if you are refusing the package.
