Does FHM still exist? ›

The final printed issue of British FHM was produced in December 2015, after which the magazine moved to a digital-only platform, with updated daily content on topics such as dating tips, style advice, viral news, sports and entertainment.

Bauer did not give a reason for the closure of the two magazines, but poor sales are likely behind the closure. A statement from Bauer also hinted at increasing competition online, saying that "men's media habits have continually moved towards mobile and social".

Sara Moonves was editor-in-chief when the final print issue was published in March 2020. W was relaunched in 2021 as an online fashion magazine and now has returned to print. W had a reader base of nearly half a million, 469,000 of which are annual subscribers.

The death knell of the lads' mag has sounded again strongly, with the announced closure of both FHM and Zoo magazine. The decision by publisher Bauer media follows the closure of Nuts in April 2014 and Loaded's switch to an online-only format earlier this year.

Digital monthly sales of 8,776 (Jul-Dec 2013) suggested to industry observers that the magazine was not making a successful transition to an online platform. The magazine's last issue was published on 29 April 2014.

Editions which feature really famous people like Kylie and Madonna, can be worth a bit more (Up to £20), but they must be in very good condition. Any magazines that are not in very good condition will have virtually no value.

Still, while these older magazines have retrenched and moved online, a newer breed has taken their place in specialty magazine stores and independent booksellers. About a dozen newer sex-themed magazines, often with predominantly female editorial staffs, are blending nudity with art, fashion and philosophy.

Us Weekly was founded in 1977 by The New York Times Company, who sold it in 1980. It was acquired by Wenner Media in 1986, and sold to American Media Inc. in 2017. Shortly afterward, former editor James Heidenry stepped down, and was replaced by Jennifer Peros.
