Former HSN Vendor Robert Manse To QVC, Michael Valitutti Explains His Return To ShopHQ FromHSN

Balinese jewelry vendor Robert Manse left his longtime home shopping venue, HSN, a few weeks ago. Now it looks like he’s landed at QVC.

Manse just had a mysterious post on Facebook, talking about QVC. We asked him for the details of what he was up to, and he blew us off.

But it looks like artisan crafted silver jewelry done by his company is now selling on QVC. Tell us more Robert.

(As it turns out, we just did some snooping and it looks like Manse has been creating artisan jewelry for QVC for some time. See this Oct. 5 Facebook post from Jeff Moseley, who was then working for QVC and is now at Tiffany & Co.:

Hey there friends…..I was asked by QVC to help out with one final show tonight/tomorrow morning really. I agreed to do it and it’s one of my Artisan shows featuring the incredible designs of my dear friend Robert Manse Designs. It’s been such an honor and pure joy to represent his amazing artisan line these past few years. QVC was very smart to partner with him as their in house artisan line. Please join me from 1am to 2am EST on QVC main channel and this will for sure be my final show. Love you all and thank you, thank you, thank you.)

As for jewelry vendor Michael Valitutti, he was a veteran for years on ShopHQ. He then abruptly left with his Gems En Vogue line, selling it online himself and also going to HSN. Then he left HSN, and is now back at ShopHQ.

Why?

Here’s the explanation that Valitutti offered himself on Facebook:

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE.…I did my last show on HSN mid October and will be resuming my Gems en Vogue show on ShopHQ. ( for those that may not know…Gems by Michael Valitutti and Gems en Vogue are the same product, same company).

I would like to thank the fantastic Hosts and all the staff at HSN who always made me feel so welcomed…it was a great experience. So why leave????

The answer is simple. Lack of hours. Even though I won the “Rising Star” award for 2021 the hours allocated to my program were so few that it impacted my ability to supply my customers with the breadth of product they expect from Gems en Vogue. You simply cannot travel to gem mines and bring forth new discoveries only averaging a handful of hours per month. To illustrate this… I will have more on-air hours in my first 9 weeks on ShopHQ than HSN scheduled for my program for all of 2023.

On ShopHQ I can resume sending my famous gem story cards with all purchases and will once again be able to offer products at the $99 range, something I could not do where I was.

I hope you tune in to ShopHQ and enjoy the Gems en Vogue you always loved at prices that will delightfully surprise you. I’ll post my show dates and hours, photos etc about a week before airtime.

It will be great working with all my favorite hosts again such as Heather Hall, Kendy Kloepher, Lynn Schacher, Erin Newburg, Fatima Cocce and Mellisa Miner.

So there you go, folks.

Thanks again, Ms Moss, for filling in some big blanks.

So Manse has been an in house designer all this time for QVC?! I rarely watch QVC; their on air antics are a huge turn off. So I wouldn’t know their in house brand. I’m sure I’ve seen it, but……. And his jewelry at HSN got tiny-sized. Like it was put in one of those shrinky dinks toy ovens. Because of the location disparity between QVC and HSN, I guess it’s easier to keep it all in one place. And boo on Manse for blowing you off. Behind that silly grin I’ve always thought there was a not-so-smiley persona.
And shame on HSN for letting Valitutti get away! Jay King is on there with his ho-hum collection almost every day. They should have given Michael more air time. At least his jewelry is well made and interesting. I like Jay but his jewelry has gone to pot, both in design and quality. They should have given Michael some of that air time. He is worth keeping. And he mentioned sending gem story cards with purchases, and keeping items in the $99 range. Why couldn’t HSN accommodate him? I’m sure it would have increased their sales. Qurate, once again, with their empty head up their full butt.
That one was really bugging me, why MV was leaving. Thanks again for an interesting and eye-opening post.

Yes, Ms. Moss, thanks for clearing that up.
I am on the same page as Jerri, so not much to add except HSN, you are a bunch of stupid idiots for letting him go. And there’s a panther ring of his on HQ that I ordered on site. I’ve been working enough that I can afford to treat myself. Now to look back at HSN to see if there are any more good sales on his jewelry.

Good news about Michael’s return to ShopHQ, and interesting the reason why. I wonder if HSN had originally promised him more hours? Well, it hasn’t been the same without him, and I very much look forward to his return. And a request: a substantial hessonite garnet ring, a gem we don’t see enough of.

His jewelry is much more reasonably priced at HQ. They’re trying to work with him where HSN was not. I don’t do business with HQ much at all, but I will shop with Michael. Their shipping costs are high, but you’re saving a bit on the jewelry to more than make up for it, as Jerri said.
I’ll probably put HQ on TV. Nothing but goat boys and last year’s electronics at HSN. 🙄 Now to warm up the house. The cold weather hits hard at night. And by next week, chilly days, too.

Michael’s Facebook speaks volumes about HSN. They were cheap with his hours, they wouldn’t lower prices a little, and they wouldn’t even send out the little card with his jewelry. And yet, as Jerri said, Jay King gets tons of air time. Treat people better and you’ll keep them.
I must look at Michael’s collection on HQ. I’m not a fan of HQ, but his jewelry is worth it. Since HSN is letting him get away, they should mark down things a little more. Qurate is a bunch of a$$ hats. It’s almost as though they want to go under.
As for Manse, I could care less. I know his pieces have shrunk in size (lol, Jerri, Shrinky Dinks 🤣🤣) and it has gotten repetitious as heck. He seems fun on air, but who cares? So he’s going over to his “mistress channel” QVC. I haven’t bought anything from him in years. And I won’t in the future, unless he quits designing child size jewelry.
A few people caught COVID in the community, so we’re asked not to “visit”, for a couple weeks. So I’m exercising alone for a bit. Also, I’ll dig out my old cardio DVD because I don’t even want to walk around here. Seems someone had a party and it was too many people in a small space, and no masks. So the office was right about cancelling the Halloween party. I’ll stay away from the kids just in case I’m getting it. They did tell us to go out only if it’s necessary, so as not to spread it beyond the condo community here. I’ll order my groceries and have contact free delivery. I feel fine and intend to keep it that way. My Halloween will be eating goodies, watching horror movies, enjoying my decorations, and skyping with the kids, all inside my condo, alone.
Folks, please wear your masks when y’all go out or are around other people. Almost everyone who caught it here, according to the office, was fully vaccinated and boosted. You can still catch it, is the point. Masks do work and keep the spreading of COVID way down.

Bertie: I have liked Michael’s panther ring for years. I finally bought one when he was at HQ and had to return it. The stones were really dull, especially the citrines. I hope you will enjoy yours as I’m sure mine was just a fluke.

        Stephanie,
I had trouble choosing between the green and the multicolor. Wish I could afford both. Hopefully the stones will be ok. I am grounded here for a couple weeks, so I’ll have plenty of time to sit and admire it. I figured the multicolored one would go with everything, and I’ll get to wear it a lot.
I’m hoping mine is a keeper and doesn’t need to go back. I bought a couple of his rings on clearance at HSN, and the stones are very nice.

I received my HSN glitter candles yesterday. The shadows they cast on the walls at night mesmerize 😻😻….. us, too! I’m happy they came unbroken, and am very pleased with them.
Mr bought both MV panther rings for me; my birthday is very soon. They were on sale, and the multi sapphire one was marked way down. They were a great buy and I’ll love wearing them.
We are just staying in and enjoying our VERY decorated house this weekend. Mr is carving jack o’lanterns tonight. We are ordering in pizzas, and Chinese food. We have great go-tos for both. The kids are staying in, too. The grandsons are going to a party, and I guess that’s about it. Scary movies, snacks, treats, and a peaceful long weekend.
    Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃💀👻🎃

That’s a very nice birthday gift. Happy birthday to you!! Let us know what you think of the green ring. I was torn but figured I’d get much more wear out of the multi colored ring. But that green is so pretty.
I’m just lounging around today, enjoying my decorations. Hopefully the buzzard brains in here won’t have any more stupid over crowded parties. We have to be careful for 2 weeks. They probably won’t. Anyway, some people don’t use their heads but for a hat rack.
      Happy Halloween, y’all!!!

Goat boys and electronics on HSN AGAIN. I watched a little HQ, meh, ditto JTV. I’m getting so that I’m afraid to turn on QVC, lol!
My SIL’s brother arrived Thursday evening. She invited me to Halloween dinner. I escaped by being honest: on a night of mischief, I don’t want to leave my cats. Also, I have a horror movie lineup in the works, and I’m going to have some goodies and snacks. I want to enjoy my decorations. She completely understood.
Then an invite for the following Sunday. I accepted, and am bringing a Winter greens salad. I decided not to blow them off completely; I want to still be close. I just won’t go over that often while he’s there. I bought him an inexpensive, expensive looking desk set, with an appointment book and address book bound in faux leather. It looks really nice. I am having it sent over there as well. I got my brother a nice flannel shirt from a prestigious family owned company, and my SIL, the Paul Woods Kessaris watch set from HSN. She’s always complaining about not having a watch, now she’ll have 3. All gifts are being sent to their house.
Not that it matters, but they don’t put much thought or money into my gifts. I used to get them things like TVs, tablets, leather coats…. and they would get me a pullover sweater, or gloves and scarf, or a $25 gift certificate. NOT COMPLAINING, but I felt I was getting the short end, and several years ago, decided to even it up. And they seem fine with it. They’d better be! 🤨🧐😐. And if the thought counts, there wasn’t any behind their gifts to me, so it works better if I spend less.
Anyway, I guess I’ll see how this plays out. Her brother is a TV remote hog, and that makes my brother mad. 3 months of that 😬. Right now, I’m glad I’m across town, and not part of that. I wish them all the best while I go on and live my life.

I think you’ve got the right idea. Don’t make yourself conspicuously absent, just go over way less frequently. And it was nice that you are sending the brother a gift. And …. you solved the problem of non reciprocity perfectly. It seems they didn’t appreciate or don’t care about your nicer gifts to them, so getting them something more fitting of what they give you is a good solution. Gifts exchanged and no hard feelings.
We’re going over to Pop’s on Halloween. Scary movies, pizza, snacks and candy. Then we’ll come home early, order some food, and watch more scary movies and enjoy our decorations. A quiet Autumn weekend cozy inside.
I noticed the goat boys and electronics ad nauseum continuation. Thank goodness for our large movie library, and our streaming service. HSN was great to fall back on back in the day when nothing else was on. Now, there isn’t much on there. Weekends have gotten really boring. It’s been mostly electronics for awhile now. And shows like Adrienne (fun to watch even if you didn’t order her stuff), Suzanne Somers, studio Barse, and others are no longer on there and there’s nothing to replace them on weekends. Adrienne’s and Suzanne’s shows took up several hours over 2 or 3 days. Now we have goat boys. 🐐🐐
Well, tonight it’s Halloween 1 through 4, 🍕🍕🌮🌮🍻, and a fire in the fireplace. Have a good night everyone, and happy Halloween!! 🎃👻🎃💀🎃

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween. All the channels have been meh lately; maybe they’ll get some interesting things to show later in the week. So my Halloween has been movies, playing with 😻😻, and eating fun foods. I hope you all are enjoying yours! 🎃👻💀

        Stephanie,
You’re welcome. I hope you got your size. They were selling fast when Mr bought mine. I wear very little green, but tons of black. Both rings will show beautifully with black.
Watching Lynn with Bethenny earlier; more black; birthday $$ so….. bought skinny girl skinny jeans with the front slit in bottom leg, 1 black, 1 gray. Also metallic print leggings, and 2 pairs of jog pants; 2 black leopard, and 1 black. Also, a black velour sweatshirt and jog pant, and 3 hoodies; 1 black, 1 black leopard, and 1stonewash blue leopard. All have ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating or above. It seems her stuff is hit or miss, but the jeans are generally well rated. I need jog pants and warm tops for around the house and quick errands, and my jean collection was low due to the purge I made when we moved. Her things are at great clearance prices, so are going fast. My grandsons got me my favorite perfume; a definite winner.
We had a cozy Halloweekend, and today is the last Dia de Los Muertos celebration. My decorations are coming down next week; no judgement here, Bertie. I hope everyone had a nice Halloween, ate some delicious goodies and enjoyed their decorations. If you went out and partied, I hope you had tons of fun.

Happy birthday, belated or early ♥️. Looks like your family did well by you. Those adorable grandsons, getting Nonna’s fave perfume(s). And the panther rings, and the birthday $$$$…you spent it wisely.
I too vi$ited Bethenny’s collection. Blue camo hoodie and jog pants, rose velour jog set, same jeans only in gray and blue, blue hoodie, plus a few other credit card choking on sale items. At those prices, it was a winning purchase. There is a black sweater knit dress that is really nice, but those things usually swallow me up because I’m so short (dammit!!).
My friend stayed over Friday to yesterday, we had a chill and pleasant Halloweekend. I’m stealing that word, it’s great! Also in the same mindset as you and Bertie, my decorations are coming down next week. I just got my glitter candles, and I want to enjoy them more. And, Feliz Dia de Los Angeles, to all who are celebrating.
Tomorrow it’s back to reality, grocery $hopping, and 😻 food making. Groceries have gone up so much…..it’s crazy. I just donated to the local food bank to help those trying to keep it together.
My sis is still with her boyfriend, and tonight I’m ordering in. Mary and I are back at it with our workout regimen Friday. I’m afraid to step on the scale….more scary than any spooky movie, lol 😱!
I hope you all had a great Halloween and don’t take your decorations down too soon…enjoy them.

My heavens! Heidi Daus is on with Lynn. Lynn looks great except for her mortuary claws. Daus…Lord among us….LOW cut off shoulder top, and more blush on than I wear in a year’s time. And I do wear my makeup, y’all. I wonder if Daus has any tops that cover her dang shoulders. And would Mr Lynn Murphy please throw out that awful purple polish. I love purple but that shade is definitely for the unliving. And those claws, SMH.
I hope y’all had a nice Halloween. And have a festive dia de Los Muertos. My decorations are staying up till next week, please do not judge, y’all!!

I saw Daus yesterday, too. Lynn looked very nice, she needs to up her manicure game and she’ll be fine. Daus must think she is the sexiest thing on 2 legs. Not. 🤢🤮
I couldn’t resist the Skinny girl sale, either, Jerri and Lainie. I bought a few things, including the jeans with the slit. Cute. And the sweater midi dress. I’ve made a promise to myself to stop going out in public looking like Carol Burnett’s char woman character 😬😬😬😬. I felt so much better last week going out in a sweater and jeans, a little jewelry, and Jerri’s life saving makeup routine. I bought 3 matching jog sets and some mix/match pieces, which will look much better than my sweatpants and old tees I used to run around in. They’ll be great when I want to be comfy but look nice. And Jerri, that makeup is a must for me, if I’m leaving the house.
Totally no judgment here, Bertie. My Halloween stuff will be up till near Thanksgiving. I’ve enjoyed it so much this year. And I hope everyone’s Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos celebrations were fun.
Sunday I go to dinner at my brother’s. I’m making a rustic Autumn greens salad, and dressing, and making some dinner rolls, too. That will be my contribution. No word from there, so I guess I’ll see how it’s going then.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. I spent my birthday money well. I think Bethenny’s stuff is fine, like the sweaters, as long as you stick with stuff that has a rating of ⭐⭐⭐⭐+. The prices were great and I actually have $$ left over. I’ll let you know what I think of the Skinny Girl stuff when it gets here.
My kids didn’t know what to get me, so I got $$. The grandsons chipped in on my perfume, it’s a rare and expensive old school scent, and I feel very grateful they were so generous and thoughtful. They must have noticed the bottle on my dressing table was almost empty. I switch scents but this is my special occasion scent. Conversely, I love Ecco Bella scents, 2 of them. Inexpensive and delicious. I have another one I like, and that’s about it.

Happy birthday, Jerri, belated or early. It sounds like your family loves you very much. Enjoy the gifts, and especially the love. Many happy years ahead to you.
I haven’t been watching home shopping much. I did catch some of the big Skinny Girl sale; I might go back and order a couple things. Generally, the holiday gift shows are meh and very hit or miss. Mostly miss.
I did most of my holiday shopping already, minus a couple stocking stuffers. And I did it locally. Other than the clearance sales, home shopping prices are too high. I went to Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Kohl’s, and a couple other places. Oh…. and a couple things from Amazon.
My Halloween decorations are still up, too. We’ll take them down over the weekend, I think. And put Christmas up after December first. This year flew by and the highly anticipated Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos flew by in a second. We had a nice weekend, and hope you all did, too.

      Jerri,
Happy birthday! Your family is very thoughtful. I went to HQ to look at the panther rings the other day and they’re almost gone. Glad you got yours in time. Your husband sounds like a wonderful guy.
I, too, did some credit card damage with the Skinny Girl sale. Several jog pants and tops, jeans, and I got the knit midi dress in black. It will be nice for dressier functions and still be warm. Friends have small gatherings for the holidays, and I want to dress up a little without freezing. Add some bling and it’s suddenly dressy. It will add to my Winter (dressier) wardrobe.
We will probably take Halloween down on Monday. Not one bit of judgment here, Bertie! We have also enjoyed our decorations, and the lights make it so cozy. We don’t decorate for Christmas till the first week in December. We have an artificial tree that’s nice, and many decorations so we can change up the colors and themes each year. I don’t do many other Christmas decorations around the house, just a few lights and candles. We usually take it down right after New Year’s day. I still have Fall candles out, and gourds and an Autumn wreath. Those get put away when Christmas comes out.
There was some concern about Kathy Wolf’s family recently; she posted pictures with her kids and all 3 dogs on Facebook. She also mentioned having lunch with her mom. Her husband was never featured much, but there has been a noticeable absence for awhile. I hope everything is ok there. When she mentioned losses, it could have been other relatives, she seems to be very close to her sizable family. I hope not, but who knows. I’m hoping she posts a picture of Mr Wolf soon.

Alice, thank you for the good wishes. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful family. They are all very precious to me. We also have different colors to put on our tree; so it isn’t the same tree every year. I bought a white one, pre lit from a known company at a super markdown, and we love it.

We just got back from Fry’s; we bought 12 large turkeys and a nice variety of winter squash, apples, carrots and celery, and took it all to the food bank. I hope it helps some families and elderly people have a nourishing Thanksgiving. We normally donate money, but decided we’d rather put our money to direct use. Ironic, because we don’t know yet what we are having for dinner. Anyway, my weight bearing exercises are done for a few days. Those turkeys and vegetables were heavy, lol!!

Your experience with the turkeys is the exact reason we started donating cash instead of groceries, lol. Cash is much lighter. But either way, whatever helps is what counts. It sounds like you picked some healthy foods. Some grateful people will be enjoying it.
Kathy Wolf has been a busy bee on HSN recently. Good to see her working. There hasn’t been much to interest me lately. The pre holiday shows, with the exception of clearances, are never that interesting to me.

Things are back to normal around here, at least for now. Well, almost. My sister is still in L. A. at her boyfriend’s. She’s been there almost 2 weeks. They’ve been on again, off again for a couple years now. Anyway, I’ve got a stack of mail for her when she gets back.
HSN is mostly electronics today. I might watch Lynn and Jay later, if nothing better is on. With Colleen not hosting now, it seems Lynn gets more of the jewelry shows. She always did mainly jewelry shows, but when Colleen got “big”, most of it went to her. I saw a few minutes of Lynn’s show with Daus the other day; Daus’ jewelry is gaudy crap and she’s an old ho, the way she dresses. It seems the necklines get lower every year. I wonder if Lynn really likes her. She’s so full of herself I imagine all the hosts dread doing her shows.
Anyway, I’m making brunch and having Mary and her 😻 over. 😻😻 will have a play date. We’re having lox and bagels 🥯, lattes ☕, and sliced apples 🍎🍏. Easy and tasty. We worked out and walked yesterday. Back at it again Monday.
Its hard to believe we’re looking at Thanksgiving coming up. So far, the plan is my friend is staying with me, and we’re hosting my sister and possibly her boyfriend. My niece is spending it with her bf’s family. So it will be 4 of us. I need to put a menu together. I don’t really want turkey; we’ll see what I can come up with.

Boring home shopping today. Though last night, on QVC, a doll that would scare the 💩 out of just about anyone. It was a blonde pigtailed gymnastic doll. Her eyes were wide, wide, wide open, with an unnatural blue, caffeinated look. That doll has seen some things, lol! Someone took the shape of the occidental eye to the extreme. She’s not as scary as Annabelle, but she’s a good second. $40 worth of nightmares and day terrors.
I bought the salad stuff this morning. Kale, beet greens, romaine, spinach, and radicchio. I’ll peel strips of carrots, thinly sliced red onion, thinly sliced red pepper, blood orange segments, and chopped parsley. The dressing will be made from avocado oil and raspberry infused balsamic vinegar. I’m making cheese swirl rolls. Basically cinnamon roll dough with cheese and savory seasonings rolled up instead of sweet. They’re roasting chickens and Brussels sprouts, and making a rice dish, so the salad will go great. I’ll put it all together tomorrow morning, except for the dressing, which we’ll add individually when we eat.
I’m going to insist that I host Thanksgiving. If they want, I’ll let them reimburse me for the turkey. The rest is on me. That way, my cats are not alone, and there won’t be any humans misbehaving. If they linger too long, I’ll feign a headache and send them packing, lol!

Everybody knows that HSN and QVC are the same company, right?

Technically speaking, the same company owns them both.

In 1985, the network changed its name to HSN. In 1986, QVC began broadcasting on TV. While QVC and HSN have long competed in the home shopping industry, QVC came out on top in 2018 and bought HSN for $2.1 billion.

White it was/os Bali or Robert Manse or RoManse jewelry on HSN, there are more than a few items now on QVC that were on HSN 1-4 years ago.

Noteworthy is that some are BRAND NEW listed on QVC, even though they sold on HSN years ago in a broad range of sizes, up 10, 11 or 12 for rings. biut on QVC have VERY LIMITED sizes, like 5-7, 8 only, etc.

SEE: Artisan Crafted Rhodolite on QVC and you may recognize the identical Robert Manse Bali DESIGNS (More than one) from HSN years ago.

I have no evidence other that my memory of items I purchased, I know I bought size 10 on HSN, the exact same item, making it at least APPEAR to be sort of “factory returns” or “leftovers” and maybe brand new, just a new outlet to sell things that otherwise have been in a warehouse for an extended period. If that’s it, must say while deceptive, very clever marketing. Rather than have a clearance sale on HSN, put them on QVC with a markup.

I found one piece on QVC for sale price of $878 and regular price $980, while the exact same item was on HSN for $1990 regular price, sale $1,700.

I am afraid to say it out loud. I think Michael Valitutti is gone once again from Shop HQ. I ordered some of his product 2 weeks ago, the orders are still processing. I checked for his product on the website, there is virtually nothing now compared 2 hundreds of items 2 weeks ago. I hope I am wrong.
