The belief that there is a set weight a person should be is based on common height/weight charts such as the one found at Disabled World. On this chart, a woman who is 5'7" should ideally weigh 143 pounds. The extreme ends of the chart indicate she should not weigh less than 123 pounds or more than 164 pounds.
