SUBWAY is offering customers buy one get one free on foot-long subs when they order through its app.

The deal sees Subway fans get the cheapest free of two subs in participating shops.

A foot-long sub can cost up to £6.79 for a meatball marinara or steak and cheese sub, although prices do vary between restaurants.

To claim your free sub, you first need to download and register your details on the Subway app.

The Subway app is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.

Once you’re registered, order your choice of two foot-long subs for collection through the app.

Subway's new app: What can you get?

WE explain all the different rewards you can get when redeeming points through the new Subway app.

You'll get ten points for every £1 spent on orders.

These points can then be used to redeem the following food and drink items:

  • 100 points can be redeemed for a regular hot drink (341ml)
  • 200 points can be redeemed for a snack or side including hash browns, nachos, bowl of meatballs or a toasted Bite.
  • 500 points can be redeemed for a regular 6-inch Sub, salad or wrap
  • 1,000 points can be redeemed for a regular foot-long Sub

The cheapest of the two will automatically be discounted when you come to pay.

The offer - which is valid until November 1 - only works when you’re ordering for collection, which doesn't cost extra to do.

It isn’t applicable on delivery orders or in-store purchases. It also isn’t available for six-inch subs.

But remember, it’s only a good deal if you were planning on buying two subs anyway.

The majority of Subways are taking part in the offer, but there are around 230 stores that aren’t - check the full list of non-participating restaurants.

Subway works on a franchisee model where individuals own and run its 2,572 stores around the UK and Ireland.

We’ve asked if all foot-long sandwiches are included in the deal and we’ll update this article when we know more.

The offer comes as Subway revamped its app and ditched its old Subcard loyalty scheme.

If you're a Subcard holder, you can get 200 points if you join the app by November 1.

Meanwhile, new users to the app can claim 250 points if they sign up.

Customers with activated accounts will also get an additional 500 Subway reward points if they buy any Sub, salad or wrap in-store or via the new Subway app before November 15.

Once your Subway Rewards account is up and running, you will get ten points for every £1 spent on orders.

Accrue 500 points and that's enough for a free six-inch Sub, salad, or wrap.

Subway recently gave away free subs - but sadly this offer has expired.

Earlier this month, an Irish court ruled that sandwiches from Subwaycontain too much sugarto be considered bread.
