What if the person I’m sharing with doesn’t have the Share-A-Cart plugin?
If the cart you’re sharing with them is from Amazon, BestBuy, B & H Photo, IKEA, Instacart, Kroger (and networked grocers), Shopify, or Walmart, the receiving person may use the Share-A-Cart website to receive your cart if they so prefer. All they need to do is enter the Cart ID you've sent them on the Receive a Cart 
page. For all other retailers, the receiving person will need to install and use the plugin to load your cart. This makes the whole process quicker and easier though as they don’t have to leave the retailer’s site when loading your cart.
What’s the benefit of using the Share-A-Cart plugin over the website?
With the plugin installed you don’t need to leave the Amazon site, you can just click on the plugin when ready to generate your cart ID and share instantly. I use Share-A-Cart all the time to send a list to my secretary, so she can create a purchase order and order my items. The great thing about this site is that it includes amounts of each item. When I have shared a school 'wish list' before, it never allowed me to indicate if I wanted more than one of any item. I would have to include that in an email. Making the process more complicated and inefficient.
