Is LulaRoe Still In Business? - The List (2024)

The whole world learned about the existence of fast-fashion retailer LuLaRoe thanks to the 2021 docuseries "LuLaRich."

The Prime Video series chronicled the company's meteoric rise before everything fell apart once it became clear that LuLaRoe was a multilevel-marketing scheme thattruly only benefited those at the top, perVox.

Featuring first-person accounts from some of the company's biggest sellers, alongside interviews with unrepentant founders Mark And DeAnne Stidham, "LuLaRich" exposed the rot at the core of LuLaRoe.

As The Cinemaholic pointed out, the company's impressive growth was marred by controversy, since LuLaRoe's business depends on retailers recruiting more and more sellers, otherwise they don't make any money, ultimately resulting in shoddy products being sold.

Several lawsuits have been lodged against LuLaRoe and the Stidhams over the years, but "LuLaRich"featured at least a couple people who still proudly worked for them.

So, is LuLaRoe still in business nowadays?

LuLaRich suggested that LuLaRoe might go out of business

As Good Housekeeping notes, at one point, LuLaRoe was everywhere — or, at least, its garishly patterned leggings were.

But, after the company's spectacular downfall — which played out in "LuLaRich" and involved lawsuits citing quality control issues (via BuzzFeed News), unfair refund policies (via CBS Philly), and plenty more — the question on everybody's lips is whether LuLaRoe is still in business.

Somewhat shockingly, particularly if you've watched the docuseries, LuLaRoe is still in business. ItsInstagram page is highly active and popular, with several posts per day. Plus, the company's infamous work trips clearly still take place, with a LuLaRoe cruise setting sail in 2020.

The official websitestatesthat LuLaRoe's mission is "to provide an opportunity for people to create freedom by selling comfortable, affordable and stylish clothing."

However, despite its optimistic outlook, things have changed considerably. For instance, a recent Instagram post noted there are only 17,000 active retailers, compared to the 80,000 LuLaRoehad in its heyday.

Likewise, in an attempt to tackle some of the dodgier accusations leveled at it, the company now regularly shares income disclosure statements detailing how much consultants made. Per the 2020 statement, around half of LuLaRoe sellers made less than $5,000 in combined sales and bonuses under the Leadership Compensation Plan.

There are still multiple lawsuits pending against LuLaRoe, but, all things considered, the company continues to survive against the odds. Moreover, per The Cinemaholic, Mark and DeAnne Stidham are still in control.
