Izanagi's Burden is an Exotic Sniper Rifle introduced in Season of the Forge. It was acquired by completing the Mysterious Box Exotic quest given by Ada-1. Since the introduction of the Beyond Light expansion, it is now available in the Monument to Lost Lights.

"I have it," I say, feeling Henriette's gaze piercing through me. The Exo holds her back. Inside that head of hers I know she's screaming for me not to do it. But I have to. It's is the kind of thing one does for love. The burden one takes on.

Original Quest Steps[edit]

Complete: The Mysterious Box Quest

1. Find the Mysterious Box location from the Volundr Forge

2. Open the locks for the hand, a butterfly, a fishhook by completing the Volundr, Izanami and Gofannon Forges with Maximum Temper (by shooting drones mid-battle)

3. Get the Black Armory Key Mold quest from Ada-1

4. Kill Watchers in the Leviathan Underbelly, then get Glimmering Amethyst from opening Public Event or Strike chests

5. Clear the Bergusia Forge with Maximum Temper (by shooting drones mid-battle)

6. Complete a rare Black Armory Bounty

7. Complete the Shattered Throne dungeon

8. Complete a special version of The Pyramidion Strike

9. Complete a special version of the Bergusia Forge

10. Return to Ada-1 to recieve the Izanagi's Burden

Perks[edit]

Honed Edge: Holding reload consumes the magazine and loads a round with additional range and damage.
Chambered Compensator: Stable barrel attachment. Increases stability. Moderately controls recoil. Slightly decreases handling speed.
Accurized Rounds: This weapon can fire longer distances. Increases range.
No Distractions: Aiming this weapon for a short period of time reduces flinch.
Composite Stock: This weapon has a versatile dual-purpose stock. • Slightly increases stability. Slightly increases handling speed.

Trivia[edit]

The name Izanagi comes from a deity of Shinto mythology who, along with his wife Izanami, was responsible for creating/fishing out the main islands of Japan with a magical spear.
Outlaw was the original perk in the place of No Distractions until Update 2.8.0.
