With so many Stands, it's only natural that some of their abilities end up being quite similar to another Stand's abilities. Even so, Stands that have similar abilities use them in very different ways. At any rate, here are 10 pairs of Stands from JoJo'sthat have abilities similar to each other.

10 Star Platinum & The World

Two of the strongest Stands in all ofJoJo's are Star Platinum and The World, with the former belonging toStardust Crusaders' protagonist Jotaro Kujo and the latter belonging to that part's main villain DIO.

Both of these Stands are about equal in terms of strength, and that's really because they're so similar.Initially, The World had the upper hand with its ability to stop time; however, eventually, Star Platinum gained the same ability. These Stands are so similar because of the fact that DIO stole Jonathan Joestar's body, making them connected by blood.

9 Osiris & Atum

Here's another pair of Stands that are similar because their users are connected by blood. Osiris and Atum are Stands belonging to the D'Arby brothers, Daniel J. D'Arby and Terence T. D'Arby respectively.

The crux of both Stands centers around gambling people's souls. While Daniel's Osiris uses gambling and Terence's Atum uses video games, both Stands have the same ability to steal the souls of people who have recognized defeat in a game.

8 Strength & Wheel Of Fortune

Stands can take many strange forms, whether it's a power outlet or a fishing rod. Anything and everything can be a Stand, and two prime examples are Strength and Wheel of Fortune, bothof which are featured inStardust Crusaders.

Both Stands are used in very different ways but when it comes to how they work, they're nearly identical. Strength is a Stand bound to a small yacht that transforms into a freighter while Wheel of Fortune is bound to a car that transforms into aMad Max-esque car. The only difference between these Stands is what vehicle they're bound to.

The similarities between these two are obvious, as they are both deadly Stands that appear to be made of water.Though the way they are used differs greatly, they usually produce the same grisly results, both demonstrating how terrifying water can be.

Not everything about these next two Stands is similar, but there's one specific way their abilities are used that are nearly identical. Catch the Rainbow allows its user, Blackmore, to manipulate the rain; on the other hand, Kraft Work allows its user, Sale, to manipulate kinetic energy. On the face of it, those are two vastly different abilities, but it's the application of those abilities that are similar.

Stands start to get weirder the further into the series one gets. For example,Golden Wind featured a Stand called Beach Boy, which was literally just a fishing rod yet it ended up being one of the more difficult Stands to defeat. Then,Steel Ball Run upped the ante by featuring a Stand called Wired that was essentially the same as Beach Boy, only it came out of a kid's mouth.

Both Stands had the ability to send out hooked lines that could hook onto just about anything, allowing their users to cause some serious damage from a safe distance.

4 Little Feet & Goo Goo Dolls

Not only do Little Feet and Goo Goo Dolls have similar abilities, but they also share some basic physical resemblances. Both are mechanical-looking purple Stands with gnarly teeth. An attack from either Stand will have the same result.

Both Little Feet and Goo Goo Dolls have the ability to shrink people to a tiny size with their attacks. The biggest difference between these Stands is the rate at which the shrinking occurs. Little Feet's shrinking is gradual while Goo Goo Dolls cause instantaneous shrinking.

2 Stone Free & Oh! Lonesome Me

There aren't many Stands that can directly alter their users but Stone Free and Oh! Lonesome Me are such examples, and they alter their users in somewhat similar ways.

Stone Free enables Jolyne to unravel her body into string, which can then be used for a multitude of applications. Oh! Lonesome Me allows Mountain Tim to separate his body into segments along a rope that he can slide along. While they have different applications, their abilities are certainly similar enough to warrant comparison.

1 Echoes (ACT2) & In A Silent Way

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: 10 Stand Pairs With Similar Abilities (10)

Echoes and In a Silent Way are two vastly different Stands but both of their abilities are sound-based. While Echoes has three different forms, designated as ACTs, it's the abilities of Echoes ACT2 that are most similar to In a Silent Way.

ACT2 is able to write sound effects onto any surface which when touched, produces the sound of the written effect. Meanwhile, In a Silent Way is able to create artificial constructs made out of sound that attack with the sound they're created from. Essentially, both of these Stands give life to sound.
