Judging | Miss Freedom USA (1)

A minimum of four judges will evaluate the delegates in each area of the competition. Each area of evaluation represents a portion of the delegate’s overall score. The overall score is comprised of 4 categories:

Interview = 30%

Introduction = 20%

Fun Fashion = 20%

Evening Gown = 30%

The management has sole discretion and complete authority over the selection of the judging panel. Reasonable efforts are always made to secure a professional and diverse panel of judges.Judges names are not released to delegates prior to the pageant.

Delegates may not approach the judges or engage in conversation with them, prior to or during the competition. This includes the delegate’s immediate family members, trainers and pageant coaches.

Delegates, or any member of their contingent, who are observed approaching a judge or engaging in conversation beyond a brief greeting, risk immediate disqualification.

All judges are provided with training and instruction regarding scoring procedures prior to the competition. The decision of the judges is final and not contestable for any reason.

Areas of Competition

The Areas of Competition for all divisions are Personal Interview, Introduction, Beauty Walk, On Stage Question, Fun Fashion, and Evening Gown Pageant Dress. Each Area of Competition represents a percentage of the delegate’s overall score. The value of each area, and its format are as follows:

Personal Interview: 30%

Each delegate will participate in a panel style interview with all of the judges. The interview will be timed at five minutes. Authenticity is your most important attribute. Be who you are. Each delegate is encouraged to maintain her personal style, but she should also be mindful of her interview attire. The material, cut and color should be current, professional and age appropriate. Both suits and dresses are acceptable.

Introduction: 20%

Delegates must introduce themselves in a manner that reflects their personality, confidence and intelligence. The introduction should tell us something about the delegate and should be inspired by a platform they believe in. Delegates will be dressed in their personalfreedom wear attire, which should express their creativity and style, depending on the year, you will be asked to utilize red, white or blue. The judges’ criteria are personality, beauty, articulation, quality, substance, creativity and presentation.

This part of the competition will be very much like a runway fashion show. Fun wear can be anything the delegate feels represents a current, popular or stylish ensemble. The judges will be looking for high energy and spirit, as well as each delegate’s sense of style for today’s young girl, teen or woman. The judges’ criteria are modeling, personality, beauty, creativity and fashion sense.

Evening Gown: 30%

Each delegate must carry themselves with dignity, grace, poise and elegance. Judges will evaluate how well the gown suits the delegate (i.e. fit, color, style). The judges will also evaluate the delegates’ on stage presentation. The evening gown must be the proper length and age appropriate. The judges’ criteria are modeling, personality, beauty, personal style and fashion sense.
