Kiana Kaslana (B3-MU-1) (2024)

Kiana Kaslana is a silver-haired Valkyrie of House Kaslana and the main protagonist of Honkai Impact 3rd's Part 1: The Moon's Origin and Finality. She is a genetic clone of the original Kiana, Bianka Ataegina, and the Herrscher of the Void, Sirin. Her mind is that of Sirin, making her essentially a reincarnation of Sirin.

Early Life

In the year 2000, after the second Honkai war caused by Sirin ended with Sirin's death, Otto recovered her remains. He then created a special clone using the genes of Sirin and the young Kiana Kaslana, daughter of two powerful families. He implanted her with Sirin's Herrscher of the Void core, all in an attempt to revive the 2nd Herrscher and control her. Thus, K423 was born, trapped in a test tube for much of her early life.^[1]

K423 would remain in this state until one day, Siegfried Kaslana and his daughter Kiana Kaslana, K423's gene donor, tried to break her out of Otto's lab.^[2][3]

During their escape, their plane was hit by a missile and Kiana was lost. With only K423 remaining, Siegfried was bitter about raising her, but still decided to do so. They lived their life on the run, and K423 did not retain clear memories of those years.^[3]

Siegfried received aid from Anti-Entropy and was admonished by Dr Tesla for not giving K423 a name. K423's relationship with her 'dad' was strained, and he lied to her about her origins. On her 9th 'birthday', as they were staying in a log cabin, Siegfried was still recovering from a battle. A Honkai alert sounded on his device, and K423 rushed outside to face the Honkai Beast herself so that he would not need to do so while injured. She was overwhelmed, and he had to come to her aid. However, this moved his heart, and he decided to start calling her Kiana. From then onward, their relationship would improve.^[3][4]

One faithful night, a year or so later, the Herrscher persona awoke. Sirin's will to live had split her mind in two, and the part that wanted revenge and servitude to the Will of the Honkai took control. This resulted in Siegfried losing his left arm. During this outbreak, Kiana also caused the deaths of almost the entire Valkyrie Assault Squad, including Ragna Lothbrok, leaving Murata Himeko as the sole survivor.After this, she lost track of Siegfried and repressed the memory of the event.^[4][5][6]

Wanderer

Kiana spent the following years travelling the world and going from school to school as she tried to find her father. Little is known about her lifestyle during these days, but she supposedly had a cat named Sora at one point.^[7][8]

She ended up in Nagazora and enrolled in Chiba Academy (or Senba Academy depending on the translation) on her birthday in 2013. There, she was involved in a missing students incident and was found with the dead body of Asakura Miyuki. The police determined Miyuki was the culprit and Kiana had killed her in self defense, and dropped the matter.^[8]

At the same school, she met Raiden Mei. She tried to befriend Mei, and developed a positive relationship, but not close enough to prevent Mei from turning into a Herrscher over her loneliness and isolation. Kiana then confronted the now turned Herrscher Mei, and prevented Mei from committing suicide to stop the Herrscher.^[8][9][10]

During their travels through the now zombie infested ruins of Nagazora, the duo met Bronya Zaychik under unknown circ*mstances. Kiana also met Yae Sakura during this period, but the details of this confrontation are unknown.^[8]

Kiana repeatedly approached Mei lecherously, which bothered Bronya. Her somewhat antagonistic relationship with Bronya caused friction in the trio.^[8]

When they neared the coast of Nagazora, they were attacked by a large Honkai Beast. The creature attacked Mei, but Kiana shielded her with her body, resulting in being gashed across the back by the creature. Upset, Herrscher Mei took control of Mei and destroyed the creature, causing Schicksal's sensors to get a hold on her location. This resulted in a confrontation between Herrscher Mei and the Hyperion captained by Murata Himeko.^[8]

The barely conscious Kiana became upset at the sight of Herrscher Mei, demanding her own Mei back, and tore through the Herrscher's wing to dispel her powers.^[8]

After the battle, Kiana, Mei and Bronya were taken by Schicksal. Kiana woke up in a hospital bed and was immediately confronted with Theresa Apocalypse, who claimed to be her aunt. Theresa offered her a deal: Kiana would train to become a high ranking Valkyrie at St Freya Academy, and when she reaches that goal Theresa would reveal what she knows about Siegfried Kaslana's whereabouts.^[8]

St Freya

At St Freya Academy, Kiana trained to become a Valkyrie under the tutelage of Murata Himeko, Theresa Apocalypse and Class Monitor Fu Hua together with Mei and Bronya. She was also taught theoretical classes by Welt Yang, who was undercover at the school.^[11][12]

Simulation

When Kiana was concerned about flunking the history portions of her exams, Bronya agreed to help her using a Virtual Reality Comm Link, and they dove into a virtual space designed by Otto Apocalypse. However, due to the system recognising Kiana's genes, they were instead launched into a special program. A hidden sector of the memory archives only open to House Kaslana. There, they met with a reconstruction of events 538 years ago during the attempted execution of Kallen Kaslana.

Kiana was captured by the (virtual) local authorities, and Bronya bailed her out of prison by posing as her mother. Bronya recounted the history of how Kallen was prosecuted, and that one of the charges concerned her falling in love with a Herrscher. This in reference to Yae Sakura.^[11]

This knowledge infuriated Kiana, and she roped Bronya into helping her attempt to save the virtual Kallen from execution. The plan was to have Bronya cause a distraction whilst Kiana hopped on the stage and freed the virtual Kallen.^[11]

However, they were interrupted by the plan of the virtual Otto Apocalypse, who released Honkai beasts on the public.

Kiana joined Kallen in fighting off the beasts, but was unable to prevent the virtual Kallen from dying the same way the real Kallen had done in the past, by being impaled by a Honkai Beast.

Bronya unlocked Kiana's new Godsbane Battlesuit, Knight Moonbeam. After Kiana used it to defeat the beasts, she approached Kallen, who explained she had long since become aware of the simulation, and that Yae Sakura was still 'alive' but sealed away. She then asked Kiana to relay a private message to Yae Sakura. Kiana however did not recognise the name.^[11]

Academy Events

When St Freya Academy's Research Department teamed up with a game company for a team building training event in the style of a MOBA game, Kiana participated by teaming up with Bronya Zaychik under Raiden Mei's leadership, standing against a team led by Fu Hua. They won the game using a distraction play where Kiana held off the entire enemy team, and by having a trap planted between them by Bronya.^[13]
