Whenever I click the pencil icon to edit, it tells me allow permission in settings. Next to it in blue, the settings do nothing when clicked on. There is absolutely nothing I can find in settings>apps>gallery>gallery settings to turn on any permission. In the gallery app info, all 4 permissions are enabled. Anyone have an idea where I can find the permission needed? Gallery version 11.0.00.31. So far I cleared data and cashe. Can this version be re installed from somwhere?
I'm also having this problem. This is very recent, say within the last few hours. My phone is a Galaxy S10 Note Plus, and I don't see what you're suggesting might fix it. I need step by step simple instructions.
When you choose a photo and press the edit pencil, it may say something like this...."to enable this feature, permissions are needed, go to Settings. The word "settings" should be highlighted...click it. You should see the Photo Editor app pop-up. Scroll down to Permissions. Choose allow Storage. Exit out of the apps. Go back the Gallery app and choose a pic to edit. Hopefully that should do it. Or you can go directly to phone settings, locate the Photo Editor app and allow permissions. Avoid the Gallery app as will not work that way.
Important: Your device must have at least 3 GB RAM and Android 8.0 and up. Google Photos suggests edit options based on the type of photo you want to edit, that you can apply with one tap.
Navigate to your phone's "Settings". Proceed to "Application Management"/"App" > "Gallery". Hit "Clear cache" or "Clear data" to delete unnecessary files and potentially fix the Android gallery not showing pictures.
You can only edit photos that have been taken with the device or saved to Photos or synced with iCloud Photos, but not photos that have been synced manually to the iPad or iPhone from a computer. To edit a synced photo save it to device by making a copy.
This can happen if a user has deleted a file that the Gallery app is dependent on or if a file has become corrupted due to a virus or other malware. The "Unfortunately Gallery Has Stopped" error can also occur if there is a problem with the device's hardware.
If your photos are visible in My Files but are not in the Gallery app, these files may be set as hidden. This prevents Gallery and other apps from scanning for media. To solve this, you can change the option for showing hidden files.
If you can't edit a file, a few things could be wrong: The file owner didn't give you permission to view the file. You're signed in to a different Google Account. Someone else with edit access removed your permission to edit.
