As many of you may have noticed, Lululemon’s sale section has been FIRE recently. For a company that never does sitewide sales, the markdowns have been really impressive. So I thought now would be a good time to write an unsponsored guide to Lululemon leggings so you can decide which one is right for you – whether it’s on sale or not!

For a little backstory, I’ve been wearing Lululemon for years. While they aren’t cheap, they hold up extremely well, they stay put during intense workouts, and they come in a variety of lengths. If you’re petite like me, you know how nice that is!! No need to shorten or roll them when you can just get a shorter inseam from the beginning. Such a win! Let’s dive into my favorites…

Lululemon Leggings Size Chart

I will talk through my sizing insights for each pair of Lululemon leggings that I own, but you can also reference the Lululemon leggings size chart they provide. They also offer complimentary hemming in store as well as video chat appointments with a sales associate who can help you pick the right size for you!

Align Pants

If you’ve heard people rave about Lululemon leggings, they are most likely raving about the align leggings. (I get why they’re such popular leggings – they’re a personal favorite of mine, too!) They are made out of their Nulu fabric which feels buttery soft, almost weightless.

It has four way stretch and is super breathable. I will say though, while it is moisture wicking, it definitely isn’t their MOST sweat wicking style. They also usually start pilling eventually, but as long as you don’t put them in the dryer, you can prolong that for a while. I mostly wear these for yoga, low impact strength training, and/or just lounging around the house.

According to the Lululemon leggings size chart, I got a size 6. Because of the stretch in these, I think I could go down to a 4, but a 6 is pretty similar to a normal size small.

As I mentioned, these pants come in multiple lengths, which is really nice if you’re short like me! I am 5’2″ and my favorite is the 21 inch inseam (sale options here!), which is pictured in the two photos above and slightly cropped on me. I also have1 pair of 25 inch inseam (sale options here!), which is basically full length on me.

If you are taller than me and want full length, I’d recommend the 28 inch (sale options here!) or 31 inch inseams. These are all either $88 or $98, but you can snag some specific colors/prints for $69 or $79 right now – and they’re really good colors/prints, too!!

Wunder Train Leggings

If the align style doesn’t provide enough compression or moisture wicking for you, Wunder Train leggings are where it’s AT. They are made out of Everlux fabric which is Lululemon’s fastest drying signature fabric.

I think it feels more substantial than the aligns and can hold up to literally ANY high sweat workout, including spin classes. They also have a little bit more compression and provide more support and coverage. They also don’t pill after washing, so they are an investment that will last you for years. I wear my usual size 6, which fits like a typical size small.

Like I mentioned above, it’s so nice that you can get different inseams. I am wearing the 21″ leggings above, but the 23″ are another great crop and the 25″ leggings are pretty much full length. If you’re taller than me, they also come in 28″ and 31″!These retail for $88-98.

Align Shorts

The align shorts are the best bike shorts EVER. I was very skeptical of this trend, but once I put this pair on, I was sold. I still don’t love them for fashion’s sake, but they are amazing for hiking and any kind of exercise you can think of.

They’re breathable, they have a great high waist, and they stay put. I got the 8″ length because I didn’t want them to be short, but the 6″ pair might be a little more flattering. I’d recommend getting your usual Lululemon size!

Fast and Free Tights

Full disclosure – I don’t own these, nor have I ever tried them on. That being said, I know people who LOVE them and say that they are one of the most popular styles for a reason. This pair is $128, so definitely more expensive than the other options.

Their fabric is called Nulux, which is designed for running. In addition to being stretchy, breathable, and sweat-wicking like the others, these are also quick drying and feel cool to the touch. This pair comes in 23″and 25″ inseams – both petite friendly!

Swift Speed Leggings and Shorts

I also haven’t tried on any swift speed leggings and shorts, but it sounds like they were made for runners. These leggings are also on the more expensive side ($118). They’re made out of their luxtreme fabric which is slick, breathable, and sweat wicking with low-friction support.

Are Lululemon Leggings Worth It?

YES! To me, they are worth the money because their quality is so good. If you invest in an Align pant and a pair of Wunder Train leggings, you won’t have to replace them for years. That being said, if you can’t afford both, I would ask yourself what you need them for.

If you want leggings for yoga and running errands, go with the Aligns. If you want leggings for high intensity workouts, spin classes, and/or running, go with the Wunder Unders or Fast and Free. Then any other pairs you add to your wardrobe can be from less expensive brands like Zella or Everlane. There’s no shame in mixing and matching price ranges!

Also, if you’re placing an order and you want to try out some other Lululemon favorites, I highly recommend the align tank (seen in this post!), my belt bag (so key for dog walking!), and swiftly tech long sleeve (seen in this post!).

Is there anything I didn’t cover? Let me know in the comments!
