Nearly half of luxury consumers worldwide name Chanel when asked to list luxury brands they are aware of, making the 111-year-old French brand the fashion house with the best luxury name recognition in the world.
Chanel’s high score in the Vogue Business Index metric known as unaided awareness was marginally ahead of key rivals Louis Vuitton and Gucci. The poll was conducted between November last year and January, surveying more than 8,000 shoppers spending in excess of $2,500 per year on luxury goods.
