Next is launching a standalone website called Label fronted by supermodel Jourdan Dunn that will stock brands such as Diesel, Superdry, Hobbs and Nike.

Thelabelco.uk will go live on Thursday (13 March) and stock brands from the Next Directory. The site will also offer next day delivery on any orders made before 10pm at no extra charge.

Next previously launched an ecommerce venture called Branded Directory in 2008 that stocked more than 50 brands including Miss Sixty and Firetrap. It aimed to compete with Asos and Littlewoods but was shut down after 18 months after it performed below expectations.

Next credited its strong multi-channel service for helping push sales up 11.9 per cent over Christmas. Its online business outperformed the rest of the business, with sales up 21 per cent as “increased confidence” in online deliveries boosted its directory business.
