CO2, Methane & NOx gases form a major part of greenhouse gases released from fossil fuels such as gas and oil.

The company markets its products under various brands including Nike, Jordan, and Converse. Nike sells these products through company-owned retail stores, e-commerce portals, independent distributors, licensees, and sales representatives located worldwide.

Scope 3 emissions form the major portion ofNike’stotal GHG emissions, accounting for around 98.9% (10823.56 thousand tonnes of CO2eq) of total GHG emissions in 2021. Nike’s Scope 1 emissions have decreased by 10.6% to 42.72 thousand tonnes of CO2eq, and Scope 2 emissions fell by 52.5% to 76.42 thousand tonnes of CO2eq.

By 2030, Nike aims to achieve its science-based targets to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 65% and Scope 3 emissions by 30%. The company also aims to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.
