Whether you love it or hate it, candy corn lives in all our minds rent-free during October. Debate surrounds the divisive treat every spooky season, with opinions falling on all ends of the spectrum.
However, according to a recent study by the oral care platform Byte, candy corn is Ohio's favorite Halloween treat this year. It also reigns supreme in Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, Utah and Wisconsin. But despite these new results, many people are still not on the candy corn bandwagon. Byte reports that more than one out of three (34%) Americans hate candy corn, and a little more than one out of five (22%) love it. The other 44% are indifferent.
The teeth aligner startup surveyed 1,056 Americans about candy to determine the results of its study. Survey respondents ranged in age from 18 to 84, with an average age of 36. The company also analyzed Google search data for 529 terms related to candy in the top 30 most populous U.S. cities.

According to Candystore.com, the most popular candy in Michigan is Starburst. Following that, Candy Corn ranks as the No. 2 most popular candy in the state. Candy Corn took the top spot in previous years but was surpassed by Starburst in 2022.
