Our leotards are made of compression techfabric and fit true to size/slightly small to size. For a sleek fit, take your usual size. For a more relaxed fit or if you are in between sizes, size up!
How do I know my leotard size? ›
Bust/Chest – Measure over the fullest part of your chest with your arms relaxed at your sides. Waist – Measure around where your waist naturally indents. Keep your finger between the tape and your belly. Hips – Measure around the fullest part of the hips and buttocks while standing with your heels together.
How to tell if a leotard is too small? ›
The length of the leotard should be above the belly button. A leotard that is too short can create blisters when dancing or hitching up. Sleeves: The sleeves should be snug to the arm but without wrinkles. Fabric: The leotard fabric should ideally be non-stretchy and thick enough to be supportive.
Are leotards meant to be tight? ›
A leotard is designed to act like a second skin but not feel so tight that it's uncomfortable. Wearing a close-fitted leotard allows both judges and coaches to clearly see the gymnast's alignment and every single move properly without excess material. A poorly fitted leotard can hide bad posture and restrict movement.

Do you wear something under a leotard? ›
In class, for young dancers generally regular undies is fine. As dancers get older they may want to minimise the visibility of lines under their leotards and tights. The following are our suggestions for class: plain coloured seam-free briefs (so patterns don't show through)

Can you wear a leotard without a bra? ›
Its is totally yoir choice,if not wearing a bra with a leotard makes your comfortable then that's your choice, but you can also use strapless bras. That will also be good. You should not wear a bra with a leotard because it would be uncomfortable even if you wear a strapless bra.
Sometimes brand new dancewear can feel a little too snug when you first put it on. This is because it will stretch when it is worn and broken in.
Can you wear a pad under a leotard? ›
Can you wear a pad to dance? Yes you can! If your uniform is strict and you can't wear anything over your leotard (like shorts), a wingless pad in your tights is a good option. Your leotard should be fitted enough to hold everything in place.

Ballet tights are classically worn underneath the leotard. Quality tights can be found on Danskin or Body Wrappers. Warmups are worn to keep the dancer's body warm during barre or the first few combinations of class. Warmups are found on most major dance wear brand sites.
Does Lululemon run big or small? ›
A size 2 in lulu is actually equivalent to an XXS, definitely not the same as a dress size 2. A lulu 4 is equivalent to an XS or 0/2. Sizes will get closer to your usual dress size in sizes 6-8 and above. In other words, don't trust the number on the label–it may or may not be what you're used to!
