What does ## 002 do to your phone? ›

In theory, “##002#” disables all call diversion on the phone. I have no need for any call diverts so I use this often just as a security measure. You could always just use these codes to set up your own diverts to your landline or to your other phone if you are worried about missing a call.

Speed Dialing

Establish a short list of up to eight numbers, or a longer list of up to 30 numbers. To program your Speed Calling 8 list, dial *74. Listen for the dialtone, then dial the one-digit number (2 through 9) you would like to use to dial a frequently called number.

Hide Your Phone From Caller ID: #31#

I could only get this to work on Android. But entering this code prompted a pop-up stating that my Caller ID had been disabled. In order to re-instate Caller ID, enter *31# .

Call “##004#”

This number is an internationally recognised code. No one will answer when you call it, but it will turn off conditional forwarding on your phone. It will reset your phone to its default phone settings.

When you enter *#0*# into the phone's dialer, the device enters service mode and brings up a diagnostics menu. From this screen, you can view and run multiple diagnostics to test device hardware like buttons, sensors, and cameras.

This Vertical Service Code, *82, enables calling line identification regardless of subscriber preference, dialed to unblock withheld numbers (private callers) in the U.S. on a per-call basis.

Here's how to activate Call Trace: Hang up the phone after receiving a harassing call. Pick up the phone and press *57 (touch tone) or 1157 (rotary). You'll hear a confirmation tone and message will be heard If the trace is successful.

What does * 78 do on your phone? ›

When you do not want to be disturbed by incoming calls, you can activate the “Do Not Disturb” feature. All calls will be directed to Voice Mail and you will not hear your phone ring. To activate Do Not Disturb, dial *78.

Dial *3001#12345#* and press the Call button. This will launch the Field Test Mode app and where the bars/dots were in the top left corner of the screen, you'll now see a negative number. *66: Busy Call Return

The Busy Call Return service allows you to call a busy line over and over automatically for 30 minutes. When the line becomes free, your phone will notify you with a distinctive ring.

Call barring lets you block incoming or outgoing calls to and from your phone. This may be useful if you keep receiving unwanted telemarketer calls or want to avoid expensive international calls. *69 Activation, *89 Deactivation - Automatic Recall - Allows a subscriber to automatically place a call to the last station that called the subscriber, when that station becomes idle.

*#21# - By dialling this USSD code, you would get to know if your calls have been diverted somewhere else or not. *#62# - With this, you can know if any of your calls - voice, data, fax, SMS etc, has been forwarded or diverted without your knowledge.

Call Block, otherwise known as Call Screening, is a feature that allows you to block calls from up to 10 phone numbers within your local calling area for a low monthly rate. Turn on: Press *60. If prompted, press 3 to turn the feature on.

When you dial *#21#, you are, in fact, activating a feature access code that quickly tells you the status of call forwarding for your phone. It's a quick way of seeing what, in the case of this particular 'setting interrogation code,' your call forwarding settings. That's it, nothing more or less.

Lastly, with the *#002# settings interrogation short code, you can see all forms of call forwarding on your line.

Dialing ##002# will deactivate all call diverts on your mobile device. After pressing the shortcode and hitting the call button, you'll get this response, “You have successfully canceled call diverts.” Now, restart your handset.

However, if someone is spying on your phone, there are common signs you can look out for. You may notice a rapid increase in your phone's data usage, suspicious files or applications, or strange text messages that you don't remember sending.
