How do I send a text message to a landline?

You can send a text message to a landline the same way you'd send a message to a mobile number. From the text messaging screen of your mobile device, enter the recipient's 10-digit phone number in the To field, as you would with a regular text message. Then create your message and send it.

Can I address a text message to multiple landline numbers?

Yes, you can send a message to more than one landline number by entering each phone number in the "To" field on your text messaging screen.

The message will be billed as a separate message to each phone number. You'll be asked to accept a Text to Landline fee for messages to any recipients you haven't previously sent Text to Landline messages to.

Do I need to sign up for Text to Landline?

No, Text to Landline is automatically available as part of your wireless service, without an additional subscription or monthly fees.

When you send a text message to an eligible landline number, you'll receive a free text message informing you that your message is being sent to a landline phone. It will ask whether you wish to have it delivered as a Text to Landline message for a delivery fee. To accept, simply reply with Y. This message and your reply aren't billable.

When we receive your acceptance, we'll proceed with validating the number and sending the message.

Can the recipient of my Text to Landline message send me a reply?

Yes, if the recipient answers the call and hears the message live, they can reply to the text message with a voice recording. This option isn't available if the message is delivered to an answering machine.

You'll be sent a text message stating that the recipient has replied to your Text to Landline message. The text will include a phone number that you can call to hear the voicemail the recipient left for you.

Calling rates apply according to your plan.

Will I be notified when my Text to Landline message is delivered?

Yes, you'll receive a text message letting you know that your Text to Landline message was successfully delivered.

If the recipient responds to your message, you'll be sent a text message indicating that the recipient's voicemail is available for you to hear.

How do I retrieve a reply to a Text to Landline message?

If someone replies to a Text to Landline message you sent, you'll be notified by a text message on your mobile phone. The message will say "Landline number XXX-XXX-XXXX has sent a reply to your Text to Landline message." It will also include a second phone number (not the recipient's landline number) that you can call to hear the reply.

Your messaging plan charges will apply to this notification. A call to the reply phone number retrieves the voicemail and is charged according to your plan.
