Both the cotton and the rubber are fair trade; they are purchased directly from those countries. They are very transparent about how their shoes are made and how everyone gets paid, too.
While a lot of celebrities pat themselves on the back for their practice of sustainable purchases, that is not why Veja does what they do.Veja Campos doesn't gloat about where their goods come from; it isn't something they demand recognition for. They don't flaunt sustainability to get sales either. They focus on it because it is what matters most to them. They are not paying celebrities to post on Instagram about their shoes or sending them free pairs to wear out and about. They don't pay for any advertising, actually.

When they started their business, it was never about making a ton of money. They are, but they don't seem to care about that. They want to continue growing their business by doing it the way they always have: by working hard. and making a good product.
