When The Hills first debuted in May 2006, it looked a lot different than the revival, The Hills: New Beginnings. No matter what version they’re watching, fans are still hooked on the cast’s unwritten chapters.The MTV reality show, a spinoff of Laguna Beach, followed Lauren Conrad from Laguna to Los Angeles, where she moved in with Heidi Montag. Their "first friend," who also lived in the building — and later lived with Conrad — was Audrina Patridge.While attending the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Conrad quickly landed an internship at Teen Vogue and met fellow intern Whitney Port. Montag, meanwhile, left school shortly after the season began when she landed a job at Bolthouse Productions.Throughout the series, viewers watched as Conrad’s former flame Jason Wahler made his way back into her life and saw Montag’s love story with Spencer Pratt from its beginning.But what are they all doing now? Conrad has come a long way from her reality TV days. In 2009, she launched the LC Lauren Conrad line at Kohl's, and in 2011, another fashion line called Paper Crown. She also released her first book in 2009, which landed on The New York Times' Best Sellers list. Since then, she has published eight more books.

In 2014, she married William Tell and they share two children: Liam, born in July 2017, and Charlie, born in 2019.

Patridge landed her own spinoff after The Hills ended, but Audrina was canceled after one season. She appeared in multiple movies and in 2010 and competed on Dancing With the Stars. In 2014 and 2015, she hosted NBC's 1st Look.

In June 2016, she welcomed a daughter, Kirra, with then-boyfriend Corey Bohan. The two married four months later, but she filed for divorce in September 2017. Patridge later appeared on The Hills: New Beginnings.

As shown on the fourth season of The Hills, Montag married Spencer Pratt in Mexico in November 2008 before the duo held a ceremony in April 2009. Later that year, the couple appeared on I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here. The following year, Montag dropped her first album, Superficial.

Montag and Pratt welcomed son Gunner in October 2017. Their second son, Ryker, arrived in November 2022. Both Montag and Pratt were cast members on The Hills: New Beginnings.

Pratt didn't join The Hills until season 2, but he quickly became one of the series' most memorable cast members. After marrying Montag and leaving The Hills behind, the Los Angeles native founded Pratt Daddy Crystals, which stocks jewelry, home items and more. Pratt has also cultivated a large social media following, thanks in part to his many hummingbird videos.

The Wife Swap alum and Montag share sons Gunner and Ryker.

In 2008, Port left The Hills when she moved to New York City and landed her own spinoff, The City, following her jobs with Diane von Furstenberg and Kelly Cutrone. The show aired for two seasons. She launched her own fashion line, Whitney Eve, in 2009. She joined season 8 of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model as a judge in 2012.

She married former The City producer Tim Rosenman in November 2015. The couple welcomed their first child, Sonny, in July 2017. Port appeared on The Hills: New Beginnings.

After splitting from Conrad in 2006, Wahler struggled with addiction to alcohol. In 2010, he appeared on season 4 of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. Over the years, he has been honest about his battle and relapses but is determined to stay sober and help others going through the same troubles.

He married Ashley Slack in 2013 and the couple share daughter Delilah, who arrived in August 2017. Both Slack and Wahler were part of The Hills: New Beginnings. In June 2021, they welcomed a son named Wyatt.

Before Montag met Pratt, she was involved with actor Eubanks during season 1 of the show. After their split, Eubanks pursued more acting and directing. In 2019, he and friends Chris Livingston and Brian Drolet released a film called Be Like Trees, filmed completely on an iPhone. Eubanks and Drolet also own a painting company called Canvas Assassins.

In December 2019, he got engaged and later tied the knot. Eubanks is currently the cofounder of WallKicks and hosts a podcast.

Bunney — who now goes by her married name, Jennifer Dunphy — became one of LC's frenemies after her alleged tryst with Brody Jenner. (Both Bunney and Jenner later denied hooking up, claiming their romance was invented for the show.) After leaving reality TV behind, the California native earned a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. She now works as the chief population health officer at one of the largest healthcare organizations in her home state.

In 2014, she wed Taylor Dunphy, with whom she shares sons Holden and Shepley.

Spencer's little sister joined The Hills as a recurring character in season 3 before becoming a full-time cast member in the show's sixth and final season. She went on star in the British reality show Made in Chelsea and appeared on season 14 of the U.K.'s Celebrity Big Brother. Stephanie starred alongside her brother on The Hills: New Beginnings before they had another falling out.

In season 3, Bosworth — who also appeared on Laguna Beach — became roommates with Patridge and Conrad. In 2011, she published an advice book titled The Lo-Down. She later founded the company Love Wellness in 2016.

Jenner debuted in season 2 as a potential love interest for Conrad, but the duo could never quite make it work. The California native returned to The Hills fold on New Beginnings, starring alongside his then-partner, Kaitlynn Carter. The twosome wed in Indonesia in 2016, though they later confirmed they weren't legally married in the United States.

After splitting from Carter in 2019, Jenner moved on with Tia Blanco. In January 2023, the couple announced they were expecting their first child. Five months later, Jenner proposed to Blanco during her baby shower. They welcomed daughter Honey Raye via home birth in July 2023.

After Conrad exited The Hills in season 5, Cavallari replaced her as the show's lead through the series finale in 2010. The Colorado native went on to star in Very Cavallari from 2018 to 2020 and competed on season 13 of Dancing With the Stars in 2011. After founding the jewelry and lifestyle brand Uncommon James, Cavallari appeared as a special guest star on New Beginnings. She has published four books, including a memoir titled Balancing in Heels and three cookbooks.

Cavallari split from husband Jay Cutler in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The former couple share sons Camden (born in 2012) and Jaxon (born in 2014) and daughter Saylor (born in 2015).

Delgado began appearing in season 2 as a friend of Spencer and Jenner's. He became a main cast member when New Beginnings premiered in 2019.

The Mexico native wed Jennifer Acosta in 2013. The couple share daughter Isabella (born in 2014) and sons Francis (born in 2016) and River (born in 2022).

Brescia began appearing in season 3 as a love interest for Patridge. They nearly rekindled their off-and-on romance in New Beginnings but ultimately decided they are better off as friends. After leaving reality TV behind, Brescia became a successful hairstylist.
