How To Find Your Fated Mate In The Sims 4: Werewolves
What Is A Fated Mate?
In The Sims 4, Fated Mates are your one true werewolf love. Your Mate is chosen by destiny - in other words, it's chosen randomly - and you will only ever be assigned one Fated Mate in your werewolf Sim's entire lifespan.
With Scavenger equipped, your Wolf Sim will be able to dig upThe Diary of Greggorius Lunvik anywhere in Moonwood Mill.
A quick flick through will reveal valuable lore and secrets about Sims 4 Werewolves, including details on how the now-jaded and exiled author of the diary once had his own Fated Mate, Avelina.
More information on this adorable addition can be found if you have the Scavenger ability unlocked in your werewolf skill tree.
Your Fated Mate Is Random
The first step in finding a Fated Mate is to become a werewolf. Human Sims don't get Fated Mates, so you'll need to endure at least one full moon rampage before trying to find your One.
Then, flirt with any and every other werewolf to speed the process along. Your Fated Mate can be just about anybody, so long as they're a werewolf.
The other Sim must also be a werewolf, so start your speed dating around Moonwood Mill for the best results.
With Fated Mates both randomized and manually triggered, you may want to begin with Sims you actually want to be your Fated Mate - it'll speed up the process.
Fated Mates are not limited by age, meaning that any werewolf Sim may be your Fated Mate, so broaden your scope if things aren't panning out.
How Do I Know When I Found My Fated Mate?
When the magic finally does happen, you'll receive a purple notification box in the upper corner of your screen that ponders if you've found your Fated Mate.
This popup will show you the name and portrait of your Fated Mate, just in case you found them during a group conversation.
From there, you'll see a special icon of two conjoined hearts and wolf faces next to their photo, as well as in their Relationship panel when you expand their profile there.
All that's left to do once you've found them is nurture and build a relationship with them. To play into the lore, romantic interactions are more successful when used on a Fated Mate.
The relationship-building scan be expedited with relationship cheats, if you're so inclined
Beware that flirting with someone other than your Fated Mate will cause your werewolf Sim to become Tense. This gives a +3 Tense moodlet called "Not Meant to Be."

Can You Change Your Fated Mate?
Technically, you can't change your Fated Mate through normal means. The Sims was strict on the "one mate per sim per lifetime" rule, so once you're Fated, you're fated.
Why Might You Want To Change Your Fated Mate?
And while single werewolves discover great fun in finding their Fated Mate, this can be problematic if your Sim is married already, especially if their spouse is a human.
Humans cannot be your Fated Mate, which may cause some problems between interspecies couples.
It doesn't take much to trigger the Fated Mate status when flirting with werewolves, but if you don't flirt with anyone except your spouse, you'll never find a Fated Mate.
Or, what if you did seek out your Fated Mate, but you just don't like who the game chose for you?
Maybe they've got traits that don't mix well with yours (like a Cheerful and Gloomy Sim being Fated, for instance), or they're not of the right Pack, gender, Lifestyle, or life stage?
Maybe your Fated Mate died before your Sim's time, and you're lonely with the limit of one Fated Mate in your lifetime?
Use Cheats To Switch Your Fated Mate
Whether you just don't want to search or are hell-bent on challenging Fate, there's a cheat that will make two Sims into Fated Mates.
Then, once you're no longer attached, the cheat is only slightly different to assign yourself a Fated Mate in their place:
modifyrelationship [your Sim's full name] [target Fated Mate's full name] 100 sentimentTrack_Enamored_ST_FatedMates
Double-check the relationship panel to ensure it worked, and then enjoy forever with your new Fated Mate!
If you're changing your Fated Mate to another Sim, you'll first need to remove your old Fated Mate.
To do this, replace 100 with -100 in the code to erase the Fated Mate.
