"Thor: Love and Thunder" finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced -- a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who -- to Thor's surprise -- inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. If I had to choose I would say superhero sci-fi but also comedy... but also romance? It was everything we needed to see from Thor and Jane's relationship, but also the character arc furthering what Thor is doing now since many of his team members who end up becoming what is left of his family are now gone. Who is Thor without Asgard and without the Avengers? This movie answers these questions.
