General sailing tips:

  • As far as photography goes, make sure your phones are fully charged and that your cameras have enough memory space. Avoid taking photos with your lens facing the sun, especially during the day you will get a glare on the photos. If you have a waterproof case, bring that along too for underwater shots. Or go at it like a pro if you have a Go Pro.
  • Hats look good on a sailing trip. However make sure they have a strap or be prepared to hold it on in some cases if you don’t want it to fly off.
  • Barefoot, flip flops or flat shoes are recommended whilst being on board.

What to pack for a Daytime Santorini Sailing trip
Be prepared to enter a world of wonderment! Sailing in Santorini during the day you will get to experience the fully glory of our island, visiting many of its renowned, colourful beaches, its strange volcanic rock formations, the volcano itself and the hot springs, among others. The 5 hour Luxury Daytime Santorini Sailing trips of Spiridakos Sailing starts in the morning, until about 4pm.

  • Come wearing your bathing suit, as you will not be able to resist diving into the alluring crystal clear waters.
  • Pack a change of clothes in case you don’t want your bathing suit to dry on you, or bring another bathing suit with you so that you can continue to work on your tan! (There is no such thing as too many bathing suits!)
  • Speaking of tanning, remember to wear sunscreen and also bring it with you to reapply after your swim. The Greek sun is especially strong so if you want to get that bronze hue know it is better to be done gradually and safely. Being at sea on a moving vessel, the wind you will disguise the sensation of being sunburnt, so take our word for it. Wear your sunscreen at all times.
  • Children can bring their arm floaties with them, while older children can have their own choice of larger floats for those instagram worthy shots against the stunning Santorinian landscape and the Aegean sea as your background.
  • Sunglasses are a must.

  • Bathing suits, flat shoes and a change of clothes are always recommended.
  • Sunscreen to avoid sunburn, although you may not need to reapply as the sun’s strength diminishes from 5pm onwards.
  • Once the sun goes down, it may be a bit chilly, so you could bring a pashmina or light jacket, just in case!
  • There may be a chance of mosquitoes especially if it is not a windy evening so those who are sensitive could bring some repellent with them.
